I don’t think any change is required. I like the deterministic approach to these mounts. I can prioritize and work towards the mounts I want the most. I can always come back to ZM even during future expansions to farm more if I want.
I never did get the Mechagon mounts to drop despite so many kills.
I appreciate that I can focus on mounts I want and farm the recipe/mats I need. It feels very obtainable, but also I am not one that feels like I need to collect them all. I know which mounts I want, and I choose which color scheme I like best, and that is the one I’m going to get or will get.
The amount of motes needed for mounts feels right. The amount of motes for pets though, does feel like maybe too much. They will never go back and reduce the amount needed for the recipes. It won’t’ happen. They could however increase the drop rate a bit so that more motes drop and more often. I don’t think anyone would feel bad about that.
I collected all the mounts because I am passionate about it, but I could not bring myself to craft any pets. Killing pointless mobs for hours to get the motes in not engaging gameplay.
Agreed. If the specialty items dropped 100%, I’d send time chasing down all the stuff needed to make all the mounts. But I’m not going to farm dozens of rares for months hoping to get a rare drop. I’m just not going to do that and I doubt very many people will.
Really, after seeing how much was needed and then looking in my bag after all the killing I did I was able to make one pet barely and said forget it. I think I may have enough now to make another pet…
Does the Sentience Crown even exist? I haven’t seen that thing drop from anything that Wowhead suggested. The Bronze bars they at least gave you a chance to get them from that weekly chest, but the rest? Really really really irritating.
You know what doesn’t feel good - doing the Love is in the Air for almost 10 years with no rocket mount. Now THAT is long term mount denial.
And downing the Sha for almost 1000 kills before having the mount drop. The list goes on.
I know its probably just me but the ZM mounts and pets are not all that visually stunning. I’ve got a couple already and they will doubtless sit in my mount collection gathering dust. I mean, how often am I going to ride around on a giant snail?
I feel like Blizzard needs to simply put in a hard cap on how many runs it can take before it will just drop.
Like if you’ve got 250 failed attempts on invincible, you’ve put in the time and effort to warrant the mount. If you get lucky and get it first try you’re lucky! If not, well you can still count it as progress.
I might actually farm some 1% mounts if I can a guarantee I’d eventually get them.
Well Invincible has 3 levels of annoyance. First, you have to go all the way through a very long raid to get to the fight. Second, you have a miniscule chance of it dropping. And third, its a raid so its a week lockout.
What they need to do is put in something to let players create a portal to take them directly to Arthas (perhaps some game content you have to complete to provide the key). If they took out that one step it would reduce the amount of teeth-grinding involved.
More like increase lattice drop rates. Seriously blizzard what’s it gonna take to get the lattice to make my wasp? I only wanna make one even though I have the recipe for both!
