Been a long time player, PVPed and PVEed in all Xpacks and have twinked off and on when it’s not being removed or put on a wait time so long it might as well have been.
While lvling an alt in BfA I got nuked in the 30 bracket by some hunters so I made this twink to compete. It looked very fun so I wanted to join.
I have been BGing for a while on 39s strictly (most fun bracket imo) And come across the same problems over and over. The only people screaming about twinks and how they are getting one shot I inspect and they have either: low lvl (mostly 10s and 20s while in a 30 bracket) greens or zero gear in half their slots. (missing helms, rings, shoulders, trinkets, etc)
These same people will sit in a corner or auto run around instead of even trying to help with objectives or skirmishing. Will scream "THEY ONESHOT ME’ after running into a pack of 4 alone. Funny in that sad kind of way. This behavior not even coming from brand new players.
There is no communication or, more often, there is just random raging and quitting. Not one of them has ever asked what they could do better to help the team, who to focus on, or what they can get to do better damage. Gearing is so simple and leveling has never been easier. I made this toon in less than 3 days and geared/enchanted it in that time. Everyone has this opportunity and ability to be the same.
Why are you going to remove the people who spend the extra time and the extra effort to gear and enchant while purposely propping up people who simply are crying to be carried to end game content.
Anything in level appropriate green and blues or heirlooms do not get one shot. Your starting area whites and lack of gear get you one shot. As does trying to flag run into a mob of 6 and not killing healers so the warrior in front of you becomes a brick wall. Why does this need explaining? These should be obvious things?
I don’t see the point in punishing the people who actively are enjoying the brackets of PVP they are playing and staying in over people who are in the bracket for not even a few days(hours?) before they are out of the level range of it either.
While I personally would like the incentive to que for pvp to just get carried xp wise to be gone all together I can understand why people want to lvl through pvp especially since heirlooms make you just as viable as most twinks. I don’t agree since you can level in few days in heirlooms with warmode on but different strokes for different folks. So I say nerf the exp given. Make it harder and longer to level though pvp. Pvps purpose is not to lvl or gain pve in the first place.
AND/OR do not let people que who are not a certain item lvl. Just like with dungeons. I’m not saying a very big item lvl either. Just a basic: you have all your slots filled and they are level appropriate.
tldr;
PVP is the reason a lot of us play the game. Battlegrounds are the most fun THING in the game. Stop treating them like stepping stools and filler content for end game pve. A lot of us play lower lvl pvp because its more fun than end game pvp.
Stop propping lazy players who don’t do the games content to get better gear in a gear based game.
Nerf exp in BGs to give less incentive for people to easymode farm exp instead of doing the content for its purpose.
Do not allow people without gear or in massively underlevel gear to que.
Also,
I do not know if it is intended or just another bug but due to my current que time. On hour two now: Don’t separate the ques and kill twinking again for the how manyith time. None of this super try hard ‘only twinks BGs!’ Nobody is willing to wait over 3 hours for a single 7min game if it pops at all.
You know you love those toons with lvl 7 gloves from Elwynn on a lvl 39 toon in your BG. Or the warrior missing literally half his gear (yeah, you read that right, he was pretty much naked). Exp on BGs has been nothing but bad. Looking forward to nilla BGs when they come out (Plz, Blizz, bring back BGs the way they were!) I miss the days of BGs being about faction fighting, not peeps gathering exp while the rest of the team carries them.
When you play shooters, everyone expects you to use more powerful weapons to heighten your team’s chances to win.
When you play strategy games, everyone expects you to collect resources quickly and efficiently to make your armies or whatever.
Even in Minecraft, you need to make your tools to build things.
Somehow in this game, the logic is do nothing and have everything handed to you and anything contrary to that is unfair and elitist.
Craft gear, buy gear, quest gear, farm gear…really do almost anything to get some items. It’s not hard, understand PvP battlegrounds are COMPETITIVE places, you’re going to be thrown against people that want to kill you.
OMG, people on a MMO, you know, a social game, are on the same server, know each other and talk! Try harder, you fail to impress with your lame assumptions. There’s a twink group on Frostwolf, we all know each other.
People can twink all they want idc. I prefer max level. But boy they are some of the most toxic players i have met. Kill one in a 1on1 leveling up they will 70% of the time rage whisper u.
I have not had this experience. In fact the other twinks I have met were some of the nicest players. When I was first looking for an enchanter on this toon the guy I found figured out I was a twink and gave me all the enchants for free with HIS mats. I’ve met a lot of nice people sitting in town and chatting and helping new players between que times not to mention new welcoming communities.
Every group has its nasty bully people. It’s not wise or fair to paint a community from the few people you’ve seen. Especially if you admit not taking part of any of those communities. Also dueling in goldshire? Yeah that’s like toxic people central on my shard lol. Still some nice guys there they are just not as common as the peeps in SW.
I see those people in twink communities constantly, including community leaders; and no one in the community does anything about it or cares; most of them join in actually. You can look at the threads from even before this change to see that. I might have been willing to twink if it wasn’t for peoples attitudes towards a problem I was having with battlegrounds while leveling. Getting told I shouldn’t ever queue for a BG with the gear that quests, dungeons, and BG loot crates gave me.
There’s nothing wrong with that. Those that said that to you are baddies. My complaint is NO gear or gear that is lvl 10! I have zero gripe at anyone in appropriate quest lvl gear, BG gear, etc.
Take a look at my character page, and you’d truly understand this is literally the gear you get questing and doing dungeons etc, missing 2 trinkets, neck, shoulders, and white helm. You don’t get decked out in ‘level appropriate gear’ because you outlevel it so fast these days even without heirlooms.
I think you are hanging around the wrong people then. I never had the problem and I have a large enough group to hang out with. Admittedly I don’t hang out in ‘bashing’ or what I view as argument threads on forum and am talking about the game itself. The forum community is not the same as the in game one.
As for people telling you about your loot. I don’t see why they would if it was appropriate for bracket. Going to reference my OP and say if its 30s for the 39 bracket and not white you should be fine. If you are wearing all your slots it also will be fine and you will be a very viable PVPer with those slots filled. If you did go into a BG with lvl 10 greens on a lvl 40 because you have done nothing but sit in BGs since then and got unlucky box rolls well yes. I would have said something to because you are just going to die a lot and bring no help to the actual BG.
When people do that they blame twinks instead of realizing they can do the same.
I did not say removed I said nerfed aka less. So people can’t coast. It even helps with the gear because they get more BGs so more Boxes and more gear for their level.
Level 28 doing quests, dungeons, and bgs. Missing quite a few slots right before the 30 bracket sooo. That’s what I’ve been given, not many quests out there for those slots especially in earlier zones.https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/moon-guard/hushpup
What I have on is what the average leveler will have on.
Got it all the time in BGs from twinks “Oh great x person with no gear” “Ew non-twinks”
