Absolutely nothing wrong with elemental shaman outside of ascend proc.
Proccing ascend is RNG trash that needs to just never be in the game for any reason. Training wheels accidental win condition giving me Sinful Ret vibes where they’d accidentally kill players they weren’t targetting.
Ele shaman outside of ascen proc is 100000% fine and y’all need to get over it.
You don’t even have to play with ascend proc. A lot of people don’t. Skip it, take skybreakers + dispel pvp talent and flame shock does loads of spread damage just by itself and procs a lot more lava bursts/maelstrom than if you were trying to use the first iterations of big meatball build. You still have like 80% of what made the big meatball build work but an easier time getting to stormkeeper and imo better consistent/less rng damage.
That is the problem with ele.
It sucks playing into them, and then losing just because they got some procs and oops, 100k+ of overload damage 
Just not fun to play into at all.
Imagine thinking every elemental shaman doesn’t play both.
Ascend proc is absolutely the only glaring issue with elemental.

Skill issue. Shamans are oneshotting people left and right and all you can think about is nerfing melee

Cmon blizz, revert the meatball spec back to an actual elemental spec where it uses more than one element.

That’s most likely what they will and should do. Either that or they’ll nerf lava burst damage
They fold Vs melee , pretty any melee but ret can stick to them like glue. Ele does great dps but they’re squishy af.

Ele Shaman could use a little nerf, Ideally many specs get nerfs. First and foremost though Assn Rogues, everything else is secondary until then.
