Nerf demonology or buff every one else

Which nerfs?

EP down 40%
Felguard damage nerf
Tyrant into EP changed

Guess I’m not raiding anymore

Where is that?

The later 2 are undocumented but confirmed through people logging on to PTR and testing. All 3 combined is roughly a 20% damage loss across the board if you were running 3 EP.

I can’t find any Tyrant/Felguard nerfs though? Just EP and I didn’t even like it.
Anyways it wouldn’t surprise me if Demonology got nerfed right as I began enjoying it.

Is demo dead in 8.1.5 with the EP nerf? Demo will probably still be fine, EP will still be your best trait. However Felguard was bugfixed and does less damage, and the DCon + Implosion interaction was also removed so the nerfs are substantially larger than just the EP nerf. Stay tuned.

Warlock discord where theorycrafters and people who run the sims went on PTR and found the changes.

What’s this?

Is this thread meant to be a joke? Demo is not OP right now.

Demo doing good again. Time to destroy it.

SMH. Why I switched to Demo after Uldir to get happy when I received the random EP buff to be a fast-paced spec, something that is severely missing in today’s game, to get completely obliterated after. Shades of Ion Hazzikostas “We just don’t want you to play Demonology anymore” all over again.

Was fine with numbers being tuned down to a reasonable level, but this is not reasonable level after these changes.

Literally #1. The issue is that a 20% damage nerf puts them straight to the bottom. It’s being theorycrafted to be about 18% or whatever, but that is still in the area at the bottom where the non-frost mages are sitting. There is going to be ZERO reason to play Demo on any fight in this raid in 2 weeks.

Could at least buff Aff/Destro AoE so I don’t have to reforge all my azerite gear back and forth if I want to do a key.

Number one right now yeah, and then Shadow Priest is going to be the same thing as Demo before towering over all the other classes. Literally makes no sense in that regard when you think about it if they want to have specs just towering over others just with a different class color.

Ele/Balance/SPriest are all in the same boat as Demo. They all abuse one azerite trait. I am PERFECTLY fine with EP getting hit. I was at least expecting them to do what they did to Fire Mage and such when Blaster Master got hit. Compensate the spec elsewhere. Demo instead gets compensated with more nerfs. I went on PTR. DCon feels like garbage with no EP and losing almost 1000 haste also feels like garbage.

Fire got hit twice. Blaster Master and then Wildfire (and Fire wasn’t even top half of DPS BEFORE the Wildfire nerf). It wasn’t compensated in any way following the Wildfire nerf, either.

Yeah, same. I mean anytime your fast-paced spec gets destroyed it’s awful. This has now happened to me twice. Going from Legion SV and it’s fast-paced nature and attention to maintaining buffs and hitting your buttons right, transformed into a brain-dead much slower spec which I hobbled through Uldir with hating the spec halfway through the instance in which I reroll to play Demo because it was looking like it could be in an ok place, to get the hotfix buff to EP which made it extremely fun to play, and now the playstyle that is fun is getting horribly mangled (not talking about damage at all).

I feel like they just want to kill fun in this expansion. I’m running out of fast-paced skill intensive/different things to play. Now I am going to have to hobble my way on progression on Stormwall/Jaina, while planning out another toon to play, and if there is none that I enjoy, I am just done. This expansion is a steaming pile anyway, probably even worse than WoD when they did this spec dirty af last time.

Blizzard needs to stop (seemingly) blindly buffing things so people switch over to it, and then nerfing it a little while later after the damage has already been done.

That or give people who farmed X trait, get free titan residuum to replace the now butchered pieces they were wearing prior.

I mean just let them ride out the raid tier after they do their initial tuning pass (you know, the same tuning pass they thought EP getting buffed up was a smart idea), let people have their moment, then change it for next raid tier where people have preparation to prepare something else they want to play if they do not like where the changes are going for their spec. This literally just wrecks people.

I’d rather they just buff everyone else. Nerfing is never fun :frowning:

That would work too, and it serves as nerfing content in the same vein over time they like to do. Shrug. Blizzard.
