Azerite traits are overpowered, not the class.
Explosive potential gives 700 haste with 3 or more imps exploded. This stacked 3 times gives a 5k dps boost.

blaster master was performing worse than explosive potential but that got nerfed and firemages werent sitting on top like demo locks are. imagine playing demo and having a constant lust buff on demand.

How about no. Its not even the best dps class anyways. Just because a few hundred lock players are pulling crazy numbers doesn’t mean everyone is. You should be asking for buffs to underperforming classes.
Ret/arms/unholy and frost DKs/BM hunter could all use a little love but the differance is ~4-6k dps and depending on the fight you wont notice.

we arent asking to gut your spec, just make things fair. overpowered traits have been nerfed in the past at any performance level (blaster master for fire when people figured it out, those shaman traits recently when they figured out a fun spec and then it got nerfed). seems only fair and within the balance team’s MO (given if they want to be consistent, which…) to nerf Explosive Potential. i mean, check out bloodmallet. any time one bar has been WAY longer than the others, its been nerfed.

I am perfectly fine with the spec being nerfed. I never said I wasn’t. I am just saying that Demo has been an unviable spec for almost 4 years now. I can’t think of another spec in the game where the developers told the players to straight up not play it.
Also, nerfing is never a solution. Buffing to par is better. Nerfing Demo is not going to make people suddenly want to take hunters or non-frost mages.

i agree with buffing others over nerfing, it just never feels good, even if i was a spec competing against that. it kinda feels like santa taking presents back from you after you opened it and played with it.
though i understand theres a lot under the hood balance teams have to worry about
If they nerf Demo (and especially EP) into the ground I am going to be SoL for over a week. I rerolled all my Azerite to Demo. I hate playing Affliction. Spec is so boring that I want to gouge my eyes out. I played Aff enough in Uldir (7/8 M) and I honestly hated every minute of it. I initially leveled this Warlock to raid as Demo. Demo turned out to be trash and I didn’t want to level another character.
So, lets say they do nerf EP into trash tier (its what they did to Blaster Master). I will now have to farm EVERY single slot of gear again. The stat priority for EP Demo and non EP Demo is flipped completely upside down and the Azerite Gear I am currently wearing is trash for other specs.

hey man, preaching to the choir. you know how long it took me to get those x3 blaster master traits (as well as extra armor/rings/trinket pieces with bis secondaries) then literally the day i finished my set, it got nerfed. same with my rogue buddy, his bis spec got changed TWICE on him. tbh, this whole azerite system is just garbage, and leads to issues like this; whenever they balance something (nerf), the players who spent time, and more importantly RESOURCES (risiduum) are SOL. yeah man, i know the feels and i dont want that for you, like i said, id rather they even out the power curve of traits.

Another reason I am not a fan of gear in the last two expansions. All these buffs and talent like traits should be in the spell book, or in a talent tree/ page. That way when balance changes are made it has less chance to effect the gear people work hard to obtain. Also gives people leveling more to look forward to.

They’re already nerfing demo op trait on ptr.
My lock has been demo since day 1, which is sometime between October '05 and January '06. That spec has never been “great” (at least as far as I know, she’s not my main so maybe it was great & I just didn’t experience it) until now. I don’t care if you buff everyone else, but DO NOT take her greatness away. She can pull multiple mobs, she kills things quickly & with great ease and she doesn’t spend half the time played being dead (or running away). She’s FUN!
That said though, I don’t PvP so maybe this is a big deal for PvPers. I’m sorry if that’s the case, but please don’t nerf my lock. :begs:

I would say last 3 xpacs. Demo wasn’t that great in mop either tbh. Regardless of how it performs I stick with destruction though. Fire fire fire!
