Avalanches circle indicator is awful, falls way too fast and is basically unavoidable unless you somehow have 50% move speed up the entire time. 1-2 bolstered avalanche breakers on high keys can and usually will kill the entire group. Pelters have a ridiculous range and can’t be los’d. On fortified, the last two scorpions on at a 17 are throwing out ridiculous unavoidable aoe rocks to everyone in the group and are stronger than last group in Vortex Pinnacle at a 19 or 20. Make it make sense. I’d understand if there was some sort of counterplay to any of this but really, there isn’t. The second boss is the epitome of this, especially in a melee heavy group that’s spawning unavoidable avalanches all over eachother while trying to kill totems.
I found out the hard way to take your sweet time with NL, one pack at a time before last boss lol.
Pelters are the worst though as regards to Avalanche mon while it is way too fast of an opinion after the cast if you do watch the cast time and move before its finished you’re good.
The beef I have with Avalanche is that once the telegraph is visible, you can’t escape. It meeds to appear when the mob starts casting. I can hear Wyatt saying in the background, “do you guys not have addons?”
if you watch the breaker cast it, you can escape. I agree it could do with another 1 second on the cast time though.
It goes to where you are. If you move when he casts you won’t get hit.
right but in melee everyone is overlapping so less simple to just be on your bike. frying pan → fire
We shouldn’t have to watch a cast bar.
If 2 Pelters is pelting at you multiple time, you are going to die very fast. I was in +18 NL group, I watched Shadow Priest died to 2 pelters in 2 seconds
Umm…maybe M+ isn’t for you. Why on earth do you think you shouldn’t have to watch a cast bar? I regularly need to watch every cast bar of everything I pull and you’re complaining about watching 1 a few times in a single dungeon??? Wow. Just wow.
So don’t move to where another player is?
For avalanche you need to start moving as they cast ( or stun them as they cast ), or just keep moving.
If you start moving after the cast ( when circle pops ) it’s probably already too late and you might have better luck popping a defensive instead.
No fun for non mobile classes but it’s better than dying.
Never be stacked.
Pelters are horrible. They need constant stuns and you dont want them to get too bolstered.
