Neglected Blood Elf Zones!

I’ve been playing classic and classic tbc. Have been loving the story of this game from 2007. Excited for my elf to get to restore the Sunwell!
Thought to visit retail wow and see the changes that have been made to Silvermoon and explore Quel’danas! Since surely things have changed in 14 years according to the canon like the rest of the game’s zones. Noticed in Silithus that you can talk to a time traveler and see what it used to look like, thought Quel’thalas would have something similar… Then I got there…
Nothing has changed? How do you just neglect to change the zones after there was an entire expansion about them where your hero saves it? I assume Exodar is the same. Why did other zones get more priority when elves still seem to be one of the most popular races? Are there even any other unchanged zones? Also, seems like it’s the only place in the game you cannot fly.
Am I missing something in the lore? Did we not restore the Sunwell with a naaru? Says we did. Even void elves were added and no change. So disappointing and so frustrating.
Can we please get an update for the blood elves in what comes after classic tbc at least? Seems like it would be a good time to fix that mistake.

Sadly much like the Draeni were stuck in BC part of the game and not part of the main world. Let alone Blizzard wants us to huddle in Orgrimmar and Stormwind so they don’t have to make multiple faction capitals relevant.

I mean they could’ve made something around exodar and silvermoon and elves and stuff instead of this expansion. It would have been a whole lot more interesting. I enjoy the gameplay, but the zones are super boring and disconnected and not fun. Tbc was magical in comparison.

I feel like the change is clear, too. Make the new threat Amani trolls mixed with growing scourge. Make Silvermoon a starting Zone of sorts trying to fight off that, fix the scar, open up the world so you can fly, and make Quel’danas a new capital city with a boat from Silvermoon. Could even be almost a copy paste of Silvermoon with the Sunwell in the middle for all I care.

i can give a theory for why:

blood elves are the most played race in the game, without having to do much of anything to keep them happy lol

on top of that there is a vanilla race in the game that hasnt had a hometown, much less 3 zones for them exclusively and a full sized city. (gnomes). they’ve recovered a corner of gnomeregan but its a warfront and dungeon not a city.

starting with cata, the devs mostly stopped making actual towns for races, so worgen live with nelfs. goblins live with orcs. nightbourne live with blood elves and void elves have a little …uh area, with no inn, etc. they all hail from cities of their own but for story reasons are not allowed to live there.

Why would you want them to waste resources to change an old zone that nobody ever visit anyway, i’ll never know.

Blood Elves aren’t the only race stuck in the past.

Weird that there are Nightborne tourists in the city, while seeing core Horde ambassadors still being toured around

Also weird that the tourists were “lowborne” clothes. It would be nice if they were the datamined variation of the heritage armor

They’ve still been adding random NPCs, like the one by the bank on the east side of the city that plays with a little fox pet. I do want to see a revamped Silvermoon. I’m thankful that it seems a handful of people on MG populate it, whereas WRA has let it entirely die. How depressing.

They really should do something with Gilneas though as well >.>
It’s just sitting there…

Their attitude seems to be one of make new areas and funnel everyone to them and the capitals rather than integrating the new and the old in a cohesive whole.
(Same for professions)

I get that you couldn’t care less about Horde, but Trolls exist, and they’ve been in the exact same position, and dealt with the exact same thing (having their “city” being turned into nothing but a starting area).

Nightborne have Suramar.

Void Elves have Telogrus.

Highmountain have Thunder Totem.

Lightforged have the Vindicaar.

Dark Irons have (canonically) Blackrock mountain/ironforge.

Zandalari have Zuldazar.

Kultirans have Boralus.

The only “homeless” races after Cata ones are Mag’har and currently, Forsaken (Night Elves are squatting at Hyjal).

So no, that’s not a excuse to leave Silvermoon untouched for 15 years.

It would be great to see an update of the area, it has been more than 10 years since we defeated Kael’thas and we still have his statues standing there XD

These cities are instanced alongside the outland land mass.

Its why there are loading screens, no flying, and probably why they wont update them

The coding behind it is the problem

Also kaelthas for life. Idk why they made him a villain. Rude.

vulpera have a wagon

silvermoon should be updated tho

!!! They should get wagon mounts. Venthyr carriages!
/offtopic I go

Huh… I completely forgot they existed.

For being untouched for 15 years, it’s still more beautiful than the landscape we’ve been given for the entire Shadowlands expansion.

The best chance for those zones to be fixed was during the Cata revamp, since it wasn’t done then I wouldn’t hold out much hope.

Kinda wish they would redo the belf starter zone and Silvermoon make it accessible to both high elf races, it would be cool lore for the city to stay neutral ground, would be cool to make a city where alliance and horde can speak to one another and interact despite what ever conflict is forcing us in to another plot hole of a war…
