I’m having a hard time finding a guide that specifically states priority spells/rotation(icy veins doesn’t seem to be very accurate).
Long story short, I’m simming around 34k, and I’m pulling low 20’s(unflasked, no pre-pot, no heroism, etc.) single target as a 430 DH with copied specs, traits, enchants, etc. from top PVE DH’s. When I get in a group with a DH who does the kind of dps I should be doing, I review the dmg breakdown and try to copy it, but my dps has actually gotten worse instead of better doing this.
A lot of guides I see are dated. Can anyone point me towards a good one? Getting bored with healing, hoping to mainly focus on DPSing in 8.3, but I won’t be at this rate. Lol

Its hard to make recommendation based on above info. Typically Simm always shows higher but your actual DPS shouldn’t have so much variation. Typically the variance should be around 4-5k. Can you link your character? and that simms on Adds or boss fight?

You have so low Versatility and high Mastery. Mastery is pretty Bad for Havoc. Stack Versatility & haste, Then Crit. Take 1x Revolving Bldes and 1x Chaotic Transformations ( Azerite Traits). The Ideal Azerite Setup for Havoc is 2x/3x Furious Gaze, 1x Revolving Blades, 1x Chaotic Transformation,1x Eyes of Rage. Your Talents is OK. Always prefer Blade Dance over Chaos Strike, Blade Dance is your main DPS booster. Use essence of Focusing Iris after Eye Beam so it can be channeled faster with Haste proc. You can do ridiculous damage at the beginning. Just Follow like this. Pop meta before putting keys on sphere ( Your Meta will active but it will reset when door is open). Start with Blade Dance, Eyebeam, Focusing Iris, Blade Dance, POP Meta Again ( your eye beam will reset instantly by Azerite Trait Chaotic Transformation), Eyebeam, Blade Dance and so on. Always try to do as much Blade Dance as Possible during Eye Beam Proc. May be someone more experienced will give you some more insight.
Use Raidbots here to see your stat priority crit is usually 2nd sometimes first haste is okay but is never usually better than crit or vers

Your Vers is far too low. Stat priority should be vers>crit>haste>mastery. Avoid mastery at all costs.
Ideal azerite traits are 2x undulating tides (from benthic / EP azerite gear), 2-3x furious gaze, 1x eyes of rage, 1x chaotic transformation, then others would be revolving blades / thirsting blades.
More often than not your essences should be CLF main, crucible and conflict&strife as minors.
Get at least one bile-crusted crawg tusk from underrot, then try to get diver’s folly from Behemoth in EP. Whichever has higher ilvl should be your mainhand. Your trinkets are mainly geared for m+, not single target raiding. Try to target ashvane’s coral & dribbling inkpod from ashvane / orgozoa in EP.
Simming includes heroism, prepots, flask, etc, so if you’re saying you’re simming @ 34k but not using these elements, you’re just hurting yourself. If you’re looking to up your dps, you should always utilize the tools available to you.
