The current problem is I can use said Conquest gear to upgrade to a set, but doing that block me from upgrading a hero track. Hero Track isn’t optimal in PvP. But due the bi-weekly charge, that locks out of way to progress.
With the vault being made outdoor content to favor delves, upgrading PvP path has become horrible.
9 slots from PvE, and somehow the game manages to NOT give something I can use still. This needs to be addressed…
If I understand your problem correctly, they added an item in the conquest vendor to address this. Conqueror’s Prized Varnish and Conqueror’s Prized Laquer were the season 2 items, I assume season 3 will have equivalent.
Use your catalyst charges on hero track pve gear, then use the conquest item to give that piece of gear pvp scaling. Now your one catalyst charge has made a piece of gear useful for both game modes.
PvE and PvP gear are totally different paths, PvP is 100% deterministic based on just hitting conquest cap and buying a conquest piece each (or every-other) week or buying a varnish to turn ANY PvE tier piece into conquest-ilvl tier in PvP. When the conquest cap is lifted late in the season, it’s just grind conquest > get max ilvl PvP gear, done.
Vault isn’t for PvP gear because it’s completely random and unless it is Myth-track and fully upgraded tier, it doesn’t compete with PvP gear at all, less-so when it comes to the trinkets or the conquest weapons you get for free.
Eh, I thought this was gonna be a thread about how PVP usually has to be premade if you don’t want to just waste your time. Got to 1600 and suddenly folks turned into koalas for some reason.
You do PvP for PvP gear to use in PvP.
You do PvE for PvE gear to use in PvE.
Conquest gear is either equal to or better than fully-upgraded Myth track and is always better than spark-crafted gear in PvP.
Champion track and higher gear is always equal to or better than Conquest gear in PvE, Runed and Gilded crafted gear being better than Conquest-crafted gear in PvE.
Then why did you say I was “making up random stuff” when I said conquest gear was equal to or better than fully-upgraded Myth track in PVP but champion track was equal to or better than conquest in PVE?
Re-read my post. You can call me deaf but at least I can read.
I still don’t understand the problem we’re having here.
The varnish item is for people who want to do both pve and pvp, it makes it so you don’t have to choose how to use your catalyst charge. you can get a good piece of pve gear, hero or even myth track, use one catalyst charge to make it a tier set, and then buy a varnish with conquest to use on that tier piece so it becomes a hero or myth track piece that also scales to max in pvp, one piece of gear, one catalyst charge, useful for both. This is the intended solution to the issue
You can do both on the same character though, the gearing paths are completely separate. You can use PVP Gear in PvE but it will not be the best in PvE. Similarly, you can use PvE gear in PvP but unless it is max upgraded Myth track, it will be inferior to Conquest in PvP.
