Need Warrior Help

Never thought I would have to actually ask for help on how to level my warrior. I die on average 10-15 times per sitting and I don’t know what to do. I’m a level 27 warrior and I am having nothing but horrible experiences. I am constantly regretting put time into my warrior and effort. I have tried 2 hand and dual wield and no matter what I do, I get 2 good fights out of 20.

I have heard about this hamstring kite that these other “pro” warriors are talking about, but I can’t seem to figure it out. I hamstring something, run away and the mob hits me twice before I get out of their attack range. Makes no sense to me.

In short: Help.

Tank / Dps dungeons and get geared = profit

Warriors are very gear reliant

Also make sure that you have max weapon proficiency in the weapon you are using because if you don’t that might be why you are losing fights

Awesome response, appreciate the help. Glad I could count on someone like you.

Try dual-wielding daggers and spam Heroic Strike. Spec for Fury and focus on rage regeneration talents/white damage. You’ll generate rage quickly since you’re using fast weapons, so Heroic Strike all day long. Remember to maintain Thunder Clap and Battle Shout. You can also try dagger+shield for extra survivability. Don’t bother with Rend… it’s only useful for PvP. Also: Grab Piercing Howl in Fury while you’re at it… the movement speed debuff will prevent those annoying fleeing enemies from grabbing new enemies.

If you are having survivability problems, I suggest doing green quests whenever possible so you’re fighting mobs a few levels lower than you. If you run out of green quests in one area, move to another area and come back later to do current yellow and orange quests after they’ve turned green.

Also, make sure you are wearing mail instead of leather if possible, and don’t skimp on stamina. Ideal gear is “of the Bear” (strength/stam).

If mobs are close together, use a ranged weapon to pull them way back, one at a time. Fighting 2-3 mobs at once is a bad idea.

If you’re still dying, used a shield. You’ll kill stuff slower but it increases your survivability by a lot.

One thing… and im no expert… this is my first real warrior… and i die a ton… dont fight more than 2 and thats only if theyre one-two levels below you. I dont use the hamstring thing. I charge thunderclap rend then heroic strike and execute. I highly attempt to keep to single target fights.

I use a 2h sword currently.

Having always mained a Warrior I can tell you you’re having the true experience! I always try and fight mobs that are 1-2 levels lower than me, if they are red I am dead. Also, I go one mob at a time and group up when needed. Always keep your gear as up to date as you can as this makes a huge difference on your ability to kill quickly. Run any dungeons groups you can as this is easy and fun xp.

p.s. I can never make hamstring kiting work either…

Have you tried getting a gun and pulling things from distance?

Yep, I do that sometimes. It’s all the dang miss/parries during every pull that aggravates me.

I’m doing war also to relive my original experience. There is no magic formula levelling a war is the most tedious/difficult.

Just need to play smart. Don’t engage unless topped up and with rage generators ready. I find dual wield 2.2s weapons to be the best you get the happy medium of rage gen and big crit hits. Spec into damage and quality of life your base defensive abilities can get you thru low level dungeons as a tank.

If you pull more than two of your level or greater you will almost certainly die. So pull with a bow etc if you need to. If having trouble stick to green levels quests/mobs.

It is slow, it is strategic but that’s what a war was back then. It hones you for pulling dungeons properly.

Forget the hamstring kite rubbish it won’t work yet mob reach is too great at this stage.

I’m lvl 24, taking my time and having a blast. Ive died more so far than the entire BFA xpac and that’s just fine with me.
