[quoting] TRUST LEVEL 3

Wait a second...
If I spend 2 minutes reading each post in order to get to 20,000, that ends up being 40,000 minutes, or 666.666 hours.
Coincidence? I think not.
P.S. I can't see anyone with a job or a life or any self-respect spending literally 27.7 days (or far more, if they read slowly) reading forum posts in any 100 day period. Seriously?
If this system is implemented in the way it is advertised, as others have noted, there will be little difference between the Activision/Blizzard forum "Trust" system and the new system being implemented by the People's Republic of China: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Credit_System
"The Chinese government aims at assessing the trustworthiness and compliance of each person. Data stems both from peoples' own accounts, as well as their network's activities."
Note that, if Activision/Blizzard removes the ability to post as a character, and mandates Real ID, account handle, or some such, I will never post here again. Some of you will rejoice, no doubt, but this feels like a cruel and unusal Veterans Day gift to this U.S. veteran...
For more on the Real ID fiasco, for those who weren't here in 2010: https://www.voxexmachina.com/news/blizzard-real-id-fiasco-fallout-escaping-ourselves-online/
Some level of anonymity (pseudonymity, at least) is necessary for people to engage in safe discussions on an internet filled with crazy people who do crazy things in real life based on what they read online (see: Pizzagate).
I guess we shall all see how this system is implemented. I imagine the number of posts lauding Activision/Blizzard for the fantastic job they have done with BfA to go through the roof, as users with more time than sense chase the brass ring of Trust 3 status. Please prove me wrong, folks...

I read, post etc. while working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

If you load a long thread with a lot of replies and scroll to the bottom, you'll have read a whole lot of posts.
You're likely making too much of this.
Imma be honest here.
I started reading that and immediately was like "is there an Inscr buff that lets me grind that rep faster?"
The forums seem to be getting a metagame, imho.. a new type of grinding.

... or you could just be happy with T2 or T1? I mean, posting images? Whoopity doo, big deal
Reading posts is easy to game. Just pick the latest controversy topics and scroll to the end. Some are 3,000 or more posts.

They are not going to do that. The intent is to keep posting as our chars, but at most, they would switch to Battletags which are anonymous nicknames you can control and change. Btags are used everywhere but WoW for Blizz games.

It is actually quite easy. Some months, while working full time, I had over 800 posts of my own each month. I read far far more.
Also, consider that Trust Level 3 is not something Blizzard intends everyone to get. Just like not everyone is a top tier world or server first raider.
Edit -

That is kind of my take on it. We don't have that ability NOW. Why would it upset someone if they can't have it later? They are not taking anything away from us once we are past the first trust level and get the post cap removed. That takes about 15 mins.
Sounds like a system that can be easily gamed by bots. I guess that means we should trust the bots the most?

How did you get that out of it?
In what way is it more gameable by bots than what we have now?

Do we have bots posting now? No. Why do you think we will have bots tomorrow? Come on people, make *some* sense.
edit: On topic: Most posts take 15 seconds or less to read, not 2 minutes.
RIP my level 3 trust. When Project 60 was a thing,I spoke against it because of the extreme toxicity it created to MG RP players(the members that harassed others). Unpopular opinion lead to swarm of flag by the p60 supporters on my post and got a 3 day suspension.

So, Activision/Blizzard deeply values my ability to scroll to the bottom of many forum pages without actually reading the content? In other words, I officially don't actually have to read anything at all? Good to know.
I should start looking around for an auto-scrolling browser plug-in to make it so. Or I could adopt a monkey to do the same thing, thus avoiding concerns about plug-in security issues. Of course, there is always the flinging issue, but I plan to put him in adult protection wear and hope for the best.
Look forward to my post: "I got trust 3 thanks to my pet monkey, Scroller, and Blizzard is OK with that, according to MVP"
Sigh.
Is it retroactive or going forward when the new forums start?
Cuz I got everything except the last line item >_<.

Yeah, you have to be a seriously intense forumer.
Do you need to be a 3?
Why?

I'd like to hear more about this point specifically. Can you maybe share a bit more with where you were going with this?
Um, yeah. Not everyone needs Level 3. No doubt people are going to gripe about it though--everyone needs ALL ACCESS!!!
Looks like child’s play, honestly. I read the forums every day while I’m at work.
