It’s insane how you didn’t take away that I understand how it works by the comment “even if you’re rolling against everyone else.”
PL=only drops loot you can use.
GL=can drop loot you cannot use.
Does not matter if you’re rolling against more people if you’re not rolling on most the drops, if any, in group loot.

Pl = An internal roll to see who wins. Then that person rolls 1-3 or however many items are on that loot table to determine what the drop is.
GL does a random roll to drop gear and then you roll based on need.
End of the day GL is a far superior system than PL
Yiu have a higher chance to win the drop versus not getting anything.

That you can’t comprehend the only difference between GL and Pl is you see the loot that drops in GL and you don’t see the loot you didn’t win in Pl?
I mean it’s been pretty clear you have no idea how either system works.
The only difference is you can “win” over someone else and can “lose” to someone else with GL. While PL is legit the same thing but behind the scenes and often has the same result as GL, you lose the roll but then nobody gets that loot.

I just logged on to make this post. LFR has become such a joke im so sick of it. People winning gear they dont need or have heroic gear on. THANKS BLIZZARD FOR TRASHING THIS GAME

So 584 gear compared to their 610 gear is an upgrade? in which world. Also checking mutiple sites to see and showing it’s not an upgrade.

My guild uses RCLootCouncil. Everyone gets two picks and one free roll. If the piece isn’t on your list. You can’t roll on it. Its been working great for us.
I do think LFR needs personal loot. Don’t know if there is anything that can be done for PUGs. Pugging raids is like pugging M+ its a roll of the dice.
You’re so close to understanding.
It’s because of how it’s set up that your odds of walking away from a raid with a piece of loot from group loot or personal loot is indistinguishable from one another if you took away the ability to see other players rolls.
I ignore other players rolls and notice no difference between the two. Give it a try.
