Before levelling this DK in BfA, I had never once done a raid. Now, though, I need to complete one in order to unlock Zandalar trolls, which I really want to do for my future monk.
Problem is… almost all Dazar’Alor groups in the group finder are running mythic, and they (understandably) want 60s. The few times I’ve managed to get into a raid team, it’s fallen apart, usually after there’s a wipe and people realize there are sub-60s in the raid.
Am I just not going to get this done until my DK is 60?
You can get the achievement from LFR, no? Just queue fro LFR.
“This feature becomes available at max level”, so I cannot do that.
Huh, they disabled LFR for BFA? That’s dumb haha.
It’s about as dumb as removing a prerequisite quest to start the BfA storyline, but then needing you to run across the world to complete it when you hit level 50 in order to unlock a quest chain that culminates in needing the raid in question (which you think you can do, but actually you can’t).
I don’t think you actually need to beat Siege of Dazar’Alor for this. They will give you a breadcrumb quest to go do the raid but you can continue the war campaign without finishing it.

Yea this for sure. I remember doing the quest line and having to kill the bosses on my main, but all of my alts who also beat the war campaign never once had to go into LFR… because it’s the worst
I also know it’s easy to get lost in the quest chains… I think somebody on the boat gives you your next one, but there’s also a random chain somewhere in that zone that the priestess blood troll lady gives you somewhere, and it can be easy to lose track of. I think WoW Head has a guide that I followed on one of my alts at some point.
I believe the next part starts from a tauren in zandalar on the docks right beside nathanos’s boat
are you all f^%&ing kidding me?
I mean this is good news and thank you all very much but also kind of eff BfA.
This is not the first time that I got to a point with the completely wrong idea how to proceed, and every guide I looked at online said different or incomplete things about what came next.
EDIT: Turns out, I didn’t need anything else! I actually had all the requirements!
No need to do any raids to unlock allied races, both Zand Trolls and Kul Tiran. Blizz removed this requirement in the quest chain.
Originally you had to do the quest to defeat Rastakhan or Jaina for Alliance and Horde respectively, to continue the war campaign. But I think it was at some point during patch 8.2 or 8.3 they made it so that you can ‘skip’ those quests. This might be why some guides say one thing and others say something else. Not all guides get updated with new information. Even more so if it is an undocumented change (as in they don’t appear on any official patch or hotfix notes).
