This one drives me crazy. In Torghast, once you click on an anima orb you have to choose one of the powers no matter what. If not, you can’t choose any other powers for the entire run. This is silly. There should be a way to decline the powers and move on.
Why? I’ve had 2 runs in a row where the only choices were 2 epic powers. if I choose one, I lose the possibility of getting +10 points in the scoring system. I’ve also had the situation where the only choices were duplicates, again penalizing me 15 points.
The only choice in these situations is take the point hit, or quit and restart.

Second this! Sometimes, I’m trying to go for the no epic anima powers idea. If I get two epic and no other choice, bye Felicia! I guess I give up or get no other anima powers that run.

They actually locked this abiliy behind the Box, but you can only do it three times per run.
If you run into those situations then just take the epic powers. You can try to balance it out with getting a power stacked to 5, 30 powers or one of the many others that taking an epic power might make easier to get (killing floor/final bosses quickly, killing 2 elites within 10s).
There are a ton of point sources. There is no need to reset a run.
Fair point. As I said, the choice is to take the hit (and find points elsewhere) or reset the run. But it doesn’t make sense that they would give bonus points for something and then give me no choice but to lose them.

A lot of the points are contradictory, take one and you can’t get the other. I believe its like that for exactly your situation.
I thought if you opened another anima bulb thing it replaced the current one.
I wish. It won’t let you open any new ones until you choose something from the current one.
Really not sure if the problem is you can’t decline them or the point systems is designed against itself.
The other nice trick is a AoE fountain hitting you while the window is up and taking away the no trap damage. Those tower defense random ground aoe spawners are a tool that desperately needs to be removed from their tool box. Along with CC on normal mobs and CC with short or uninterruptible casts.
