Hi, I’m a major noob when it comes to addons. I’ve played WoW most of my life without them, other than Bartender for ease of use for clicking and keybinds. Any good advice for addons? I PvE and PvP about the same, I’m really big on professions too.
details is pretty good, i use it as an indicator to see if im doing the most i can or not. i also hear DBM is pretty fire too
GTFO is great. Makes a buzzy sound when you stand in bad.
Arkinventory - great bag organization addon
Autovendor - auto sell/repair
You only hear once - auto shuts down talking head dialogs you’ve already heard
- K
Weak Auras is great.
My big ones, that I couldn’t play without, is Elvui (or some kind of bar addon, Bartender works just as well, especially paired with a unit frame addon like Shadowed Unit Frames or something), and Immersion.
For Immersion, questing is my favorite part of all RPG games, and WoW seriously lags behind others in this regard. Immersion makes reading the quest text more fluid and bearable, and helps me get immersed in the questing. I dunno if I could quest without it.
hi.
I love Tom Tom, Mapster, Postal, Silver Dragon, HHTD, GtFO, Altoholics, Akis Recipe Lists (Professions.)
Also Atlas Loot Enhanced, Advanced Interface Options (Gives the Vanilla Interface Options to Retail.)
Bad Boy, Capping BG Timers, And others people have mentioned here.
(I also use Pet Battle Addons.)
DBM is vital. It would be foolish NOT to use it.
Scrap: auto vendors grey items and it gives you a repair all button. It can also be set to vendor other items that you choose.
Details was mentioned, but I’m currently using Skada because Details has been causing errors and I had to disable it.
ELVUI for a complete reskin. This covers your bars, bags, minimap… literally everything. It also gives you the ability to move and reshape EVERYTHING.
ALL THE THINGS: This one tells you what you have and haven’t collected, and gives you and IN-GAME wiki to find things you don’t have.
Altoholic: You can see every character on every server. Their bags, their bank, their gold, their skills. Gives you a WEALTH of info without having to switch all the time.
ASK MR ROBOT: This is an addon AND a website (I recommend paying for the website. It’s cheap as heck for yearly access). This addon gives you a window that parses your gear (including what is in your bags) and tells you what is possibly the best gear comp for your spec, including Azerite traits, gems and enchants. This addon helped me boost my output on many of my characters, in both DPS and healing.
CAN I MOG IT? Pretty much just gives you an at a glance identifier if you have or haven’t collected a transmog from an item.
Wow-pro and TOM TOM: These two go hand in hand IMO. Go to wow-pro.com
to download the one. This gives you an in-game guide to every zone to give you the fastest leveling path. TOM TOM is used to point the way from point to point. TOM TOM can also be given coords for ANYTHING and will point the way to that as well. I have a custom coord for one of my fav fishing spots in BfA.
Postal: Gives you greater control of your mailbox.
There are others I have, but those are the best “general” ones I can recommend.
Skillet is pretty cool for profs but it was pretty resource-intensive. I forget what I’m using but its well worth a look-see. Being able to queue up a whole bunch of stuff, or make something with craftable parts = good
DBM or BigWigs, if you are terrible at remembering and reacting appropriately. GTFO is also nice for that.
Weakauras. Make the effort to learn it. It-Is-Amazeballs.
These three are essential:
Elvui
DBM
Weakauras
Additionally:
Raider io
Auctioneer
Details (or Skada, it’s much more newbie friendly)
