This new setup is rubbish. UI is too big, hardly any character list way too short as a result, all chars mixed up hare 'em scare 'em, just a giant step away from the usability of the old setup.

Otherwise, need some better method of sorting toons by realm or something.
And what was the purpose of this change in the first place? So we could see 4 toons sitting around a campfire? That’s it? Not a lot of value in that.

I’m fine with it for the most part, but if all my characters are listed on 1 spot I would like filters.
Filter by class, level, faction, item level, alphabetical, server, etc…
That would make it way easier for people who play more than 5 characters.
Also it looks like it undeleted some characters on my account? Which I’m not mad about but I was like “oh your back!? Ummm no hard feelings?” XD
Edit: I didn’t even think of this in beta either because I just had the 4 warband characters not my entire list. Otherwise I’d have said something. Shoulda played around more.

I think you can drag your favourites back down to the regular list and then just minimise the favourites section. But then of course you’re left with a massive combined list. Which yeah, is pretty sloppy looking. There are more elegant ways to have all your characters in one place. Like just have them in their own specific server sections of the list, with each one individually minimisable.
Or heck, there is already a button at the bottom that lets you hide your character list for some reason. Make that a switch between your warband list and your server list.
Or both of those ideas together!

I was under the impression that players were able to revert. There is a “Servers” tab at the very top of that screen that basically reverts the UI to the previous iteration.

I think that just lets you choose which server you’re connected to. Even though it shows all your toons at once it will only display the additional info for characters on your current server.

Does it not take the full character list away and show just the characters in the selected realm? My mistake.

They could literally just add separate groups for each realm like they did the Favorites section where it would show the name of the realm in grey text and then list of characters, and it would placate the majority of the playerbase

Honestly yeah, I think it would. And I am quite confident that they will iterate and improve it in time. But it is quite flabbergasting that this was their initial design. Just chucking them all in a pile.

I have to admit, I don’t think I like allowing all my characters to associate on one screen. There is a reason I have those characters there and don’t want them near the rest of the bunch.
Bliz just don’t get that some of us are crazy and having unsavory characters intermingled with characters we enjoy is bothersome.
I’d prefer the filth stay as put.

If you don’t put any in the top 4, you can skip that part. Just move them down with the arrows.
Format toggle would be fine.

the warband feature seems good, but having the character select screen warband doesnt seem to serve any function(aside from selling backgrounds/easy unlockable content for later/both)
my character screen is so cluttered now with ALL of my characters(55+) and the warband, and then also icons for events(panda remix)
and no ability to sort characters? i mean search function is nice and all but i dont remember every character name or every class or who is a bank alt/guild bank alt…
and since addons dont even work on character screen there is no way to improve this.
smaller more managable list was way better, adding a faction sort would help alot? heck i would even prefer the old realm based sort.
the new character screen definetly hurts the faction fantasy of wow, horde vs alliance may not be as prevelant now in wow but it feels like now its non exsistant.
even being able to just sort by faction would be amazing at this point

Yes. That or a drop down menu to select “All Character, Server A, Server B, Server C, etc.”

it does nothing. I have a toon on the oceanic server, i would love to delete but, there is something i wanted to check first, and i cannot access it now because of this “warband character selection”… hate it.
I want to have my toons like they used to be per server/realm, for someone who has 50 plus toons I hate seeing all of them all together. Fix it blizz… keep the stupid UI but separate the toons to realms, I also get screwed on update gear on lowbie cause I click it and it isn’t on correct realm, what a bunch of crap there as well…
