Need new router. What are you using?

What gaming router would you suggest? I am in the market for a new one for home.

I use the Asus RT-AC68P (the same router as the 68U, 68R, and 68W at the core but with a faster CPU and extra USB ports). It’s pretty old since the current standard is Wireless-AX, and mine is AC.

Other than coverage, I also choose my router for network features and custom firmware support (e.g., DD-WRT, Tomato, etc.).

For those reasons stated, I lean towards Asus routers while being specific about the model. If I were to buy a new one, I’d get the RT-AX86U or the GT-AX11000.

are you on a desktop computer and is it next to the router? if so, use ethernet cable.

if not, get a mesh router with ethernet plug on it’s satellite and wire into that
