Need more Horde vs. Alliance next expansion

This peace is boring.

Agreed.

Yea, I am not a fan of us always teaming up and being friends. The Alliance are scum bags and deserve to get eaten.

By the time Slands ends, it shouldn’t be too hard to do.

I agree with the caveat that it needs to be sustained conflict instead of the same pattern we had in Mists and BfA.

Yeah, this is all true, but I don’t know if another BfA is what we need.

Anduin forgives Sylvanas and the Horde doesn’t, leading to conflict between Alliance and Horde as Sylvanas joins the Alliance. Alliance and horde both get the option to defect to the other side if they hate or love Sylvanas more than they love or hate the other side’s prior actions.

Blizz has said the faction war is done for the foreseeable future. There will definitely be stories to tell, they’re far from at true peace and all sorts of problems and complications can still happen. They are independent nations.

But there won’t be wars or straight fighting anymore. We’ve reached the point where that kind of plot thread has ended. There’s only so long they could continue the faction war rhetoric.

The Horde and Alliance wars need to end in my opinion.

BFA was done horribly.

Except for Baine, who prioritizes the Alliance.

They already tried bringing the faction war back with BFA, and that was complete dogwater.

Let’s just ignore that and say that faction war is unyielding.

More Horde vs. Alliance is in order.

I don’t know that we need Horde versus Alliance, but we definitely need to go back to having Horde stories and Alliance stories again.

In TBC or Wrath, when you went to Zangermarsh or Hellfire Peninsula or Nagrand or Dragonblight or Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord, MOST of what you did was specific to your faction. There were some things that were the same, but most of the Horde gameplay was from a Horde point of view, and most of the Alliance gameplay was from an Alliance point of view.

And they were different. And that was good.

Starting with Cata, most of the gameplay has been ‘one size fits all’, even while leveling, and that has been to the game’s detriment.

And Shadowlands is the first expansion to have ZERO Horde or Alliance content. Even Legion had the Warden towers and the different experiences in Stormheim. Shadowlands has absolutely nothing.

Well, this peace between the Horde and the Alliance is boring. We need the faction war back.

See I would agree here. But all it’s gonna do is lead to another major threat who wanted us to fight in the first place so they can have an advantage against us, causing the Alliance and Horde to once again stop fighting and work together.

You can have your war after

  • Blizzard has taken of the faction imbalance
  • Race diversity
  • having actual writers who understand both sides

In the current system it will make the Alliance-players only suffer and this is not a good gameplay design.

Sure, let’s do another faction war expansion that can’t have a real victor due to the fact if one side wins, it would drive away the other side of the playerbase. Notice that when they do faction war expansions we always end up working together against a common foe. In MoP it was Garrosh, in BfA, was Azshara, then N’Zoth. They can try to do separate faction stories again, but my confidence in them to due both sides equally is very low. This current Dev team seems like they can barely handle a single story and make it coherent.

I don’t think we need a full-on faction war again, Blizzard can’t figure out how to make those work.

But a faction conflict like the “cold war” we had in vanilla/BC/Wrath would be a welcome return. General apprehension, with some localized fighting here and there.
