Need help with mage pvp

I recently hit 1600 in solo shuffle but then tanked to 1550 mainly due to me struggling against melee comps as a mage. They always focus me and i end up dying lol, any high rated players that play casters have any advice against melee comps? Also any advice on getting over an 0-6 game in ss? Been having decebt qs until then kinda made me not want to q again

For actual gameplay, kind of need to see vods or something to help you out. Kiting melee is generally simplified as making them waste thier mobility and creating distance outside of that.

As for getting over a 0-6? Just kinda ignore it honestly. Some lobbies you just simply can’t win, so you kinda just gotta chill about it and realize not all games are like that. If it upsets you, go take a walk.

stop teaching them

Hey, OP!

It’s hard to know exactly what you’re doing wrong, but the video that bubblebuddy linked is a great place to start. As a general rule, when melee run at you, run away from their healer and rotate frost nova, blast wave, dragon’s breath, and blink/displacement. Try NOT to overlap them. If they DO connect, press alter time and walk away to alter back.

While kiting, spam ice lance and use cometstorm + flurry for damage. If and when you have space, use icy veins and spam frostfire bolts.

Hope this helps!

Kiting as a mage against melee isnt too bad once you get the hang of it.

It tends to go frost nova, blink, alter, blink, alter back, blink nova… dont forget to walk away when you nova or slow people, a lot of low rated mages will just never press nova or stand next to someone instead of creating distance.

I watch Aeghis alot, im surprised i didnt see that vid lol ty

I’m going to sound like the bad guy here but I’m saying this with the best intentions.

Some classes (like mage) require a significant amount of dexterity and knowledge to play at full potential. The same thing can be said about sub/outlaw.

Some of us are just meant to play warrior, DK, BM hunter, dev evoker, and demo lock.

The reality is that unless you’re commited to ditching your job or disassociating from society for the purposes of becoming a mage god, just play something easier.

I dont want to play something just bc its easier lol i wanna play something that is fun which is mage for me but ty
