Need help with LUI

I honestly don’t know where to post this… but I need help with addon LUI. I would like to copy a profile over from my old account to my new account so I can spare myself 4 hours of OCD trying to make it how I like it… The most recent advice I could find is over 4 years old and clearly not up to date…and it totally did not work and I tried it over and over again.

I have gone into my WOW/WTF/SAVEDVARIABLE folder and copied it over to my other account so I can “copy profile” in the new WTF area but it simply will NOT work.

Can anyone spare the time to explain how I can do it please.

That’s the forum you want.

Elvui maybe ? never heard of LUI.

There’s a profile option in the setup page, you can leverage exports there into a text string (copy / paste into a text editor is what I do)

When you’re on the character you need the changes, then you open the same window and leverage the import option and just copy/paste the strings you exported from.

I assume you mean World of Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\Account\[name]\SavedVariables\

Make sure you do it while the game’s not running.

Worst case you could try asking on their site http://www.wowlui.com/

Anything built with the ACE libraries that uses the profile system in there doesn’t quite store things the way you’d expect (one of many reasons I don’t use ACE).

The “per character” profiles aren’t stored in “per character” files, but in a global file under profile names built using the character name and realm as the key.

It is possible to use profiles from one character on another, but only from in-game manipulation of the configuration UI.

LUI isn’t one I’ve used before but I think it’s built on ACE libraries.

Per the OP he’s copying between accounts, not characters.

Yes, Elvie, but EVERYTHING is tied to those internal profiles - doesn’t matter if it’s by account or by character - there is no true “global” profile with that ACE nonsense.

You can copy stuff around, but you have to do it from within the game.

I’d ask in the LUI discord channel. The devs are pretty responsive there
