Need help solving Sanguine Depths mystery

I run -a lot- of M+. Today, I saw something new.

+15 SD, we had just entered the circular prison room (approaching 2nd boss).
We’re fighting trash, when another trash pack just teleports to us. It included a mob I’ve never seen before, called “Starving Prisoner”, which casted a channeled “Feed” ability, stunlocking one target.

After the run, I was way too curious about how I’d never seen this before, and where it must have come from. I ran around the dungeon with Humanoid and Undead tracking on, but couldn’t find any more like it. (I found unclickable NPCs called Forlorn Captive with a similar model, but the different name makes me think that’s not it.)

The mob isn’t anywhere on MDT, but it is on wowhead.

My questions:

  1. Where in the dungeon is this mob from?
  2. Theoretically, how did we pull it?

No idea. Maybe a pack was pulled through a floor/wall somewhere from one of those areas groups never go.

We found it!

It’s an invisible, unclickable mob in the hallway after 3rd boss, but before the gauntlet. It’s floating in the air, and can be targetted using /target. It appears to be fighting a “Frenzied Ghoul”.

This is very interesting to say the least. My guess is they planned on it being a thing at some point, and kinda tucked it away in a corner to be used and forgot to clean it up. Or maybe the jailbreak was supposed to throw the whole prison into chaos originally.

It’s probably not actually invisible/floating. My money’s on that being just a quirk of the way they set up the display and clipping of the floors in that area, and that it’s actually just in one of the cages around Torvald’s area.

My only question in this hell-hole of a dungeon is…

Why does Kaal -never- drop the god damn axe?

I hate that place.
