So my husband got me a new computer a week ago. It’s incredible. Top notch everything.
My last one was just awful… so here is my dilemma:
With my old computer I had all settings at like 3 and it worked perfectly. I could see everything and the screen was clear of tons of unneeded particles and such.
Now with my new computer, I can run with everything Maxd and get ZERO lag… but the problem is, during BG’s and Epic BG’s there is so much going on that it is difficult to even find the people/bars with all the spells going off and all that stuff.
What can I turn down/off so I have less unneeded things flashign all aroudn me?
particle density / spell density might do that i think, try it out
spell density to essential. They don’t have the options like animate spells only for player, group, raid, or everyone. What they have is this spell density thing which is somewhat useless also since the game thinks every spell is essential.

So spell density is the only option which reduces every spell particles or whatever? Thank you.
ask you husband, he bought you the darn thing.
If someone gifts you a computer, that doesn’t mean they’re familiar with graphics settings in WoW.

Git Good at your graphics settings.
Your husband is handing out computers? He single?
Does your husband accept Bgforum bucks? Or take Bgforum cred?
There is an option in graphics thst i use that drops all graphics to the minimum during raid/bgs in order to reduce unnecessary information.
I remember reading that StarCraft can look very pretty and whatnot, but serious competitors drop the graphics down to the lowest settings to reduce visual clutter.
This is true for any game professionally. They drop graphics down as most things are just for visual appeal lole grass that sways in the wind and otherwise has no impact on game play.

Ahh dang. I was hoping to have everything at 10 while being able to disable specifically the spells and effects from them.
View distance so you can see your enemies coming from far away and projected textures so you can see aoe effects on the ground.
Those are the only things you really need if you’re concerned about your computer’s performance.
You probably can you will have to just mess with specific sliders till youbget what you like
Something people don’t mention very often: Set resolution scale to like… 98%, not 100%.
It makes things appear much sharper and clearer.

This alone makes a big difference!

Gives you a tiny bit more fps and stops your cpu fan from screaming too much as well!
(Unless you’re fps capped by your monitor and your cpu cooler is quiet as a whisper, which happens to be my situation. Still, the clarity is good)
