So I’ve played this game on and off for 14 years, I know the classes but can’t decide between a hunter and a rogue.
I feel like I’m enjoying my hunter more (both are level 10), but I don’t want to be left out of raids because no one wants a hunter.
My main focus on WoW is PvP/WPvP, gold farming for my bis/mount/proffs, and the odd raid (I cant guarantee raiding every week).
Thoughts?
Both classes are bugged right now and weak in pvp even if they weren’t. Hunter will be a better farming character, rogue a better pve one.
How are either of them bugged?
Bugged because they don’t work ez mode like bfa?
Feign Death and Vanish are both bugged.
FD looks fixed, with patch, no?
Bugged? Or working like they did in vanilla where if an auto attack, spell or shot left the enemy before you stealth/feigned it would still hit you?
I don’t play either one the people that do say they are bugged. There are posts everyday here.
Vanish was never not bugged. Rogues are fine and good.
By the way OP, talk to Rocksalot and the ONLY thing you can possibly play and not be horrible is a Warlock.
Rogues are actually terrible but he asked.

Hunters are great in the current phase but as more gear rolls they fall off HARD. Rouges are the third best pve dps class behind mages and warriors. They’re decent to level but you will have a long road for lockpicking and poisons. In terms of pvp they’re both good. Rouges though (IMO) are more forgiving in pvp then hunters due to dead zone.
Players are pugging MC. I’ve never heard anyone say “no hunters”.
I’m comfortable with kiting and the dead zone mechanic. I’m aware of the poison/lock picking skills grind, but hunters have to grind their pet skill ranks… so each has their own “pain in the butt” class journeys.
That’s one thing holding me back from playing a hunter is not getting into raid groups with my friends, but one big plus of a hunter is quick leveling to catch up with my friends as they are mid 30s and I’m level 10.
I have a level 31 warrior but I feel I don’t have the time for the extremely slow gold grind required for my boe bis (I hate trying to farm gold as a warrior…horrible), I also don’t think I have the time to get all my bis that is required to make a warrior good because I’ve heard they are so gear dependant … it’s not an appealing idea to play a class that is only fun in PvP once you have the top gear on the server, I also want to level as dual wield fury which isn’t good w/o hit rating and if I’m doing that… am I not better off just being a combat rogue?..

Hunters don’t grind pet skills. Just find a pet with the skill you have, stable your current pet if you want to keep it and just have the pet with your desired skill attack an NPC and you’ll learn the skill. Plus be aware, when I said they fall off in later content I mean they got hit with sweet chin music and flopped down to bed rock. Lowest dps out of all pure dps classes.
Also you can just skip to the highest rank available, no need to get each rank one by one.
How far away are we from said “nerf”? Will it prevent me from content with friends?
Would you say my fears about continuing my warrior are accurate?
Past BWL you’ll start to notice it with other classes like warriors and mages scaling very good with gear. And no, I never EVER tell someone -even complete strangers- that they can’t join my groups because of the class they play. So in your situation playing with friends should be fine. As for warriors…oh boy. They’re not fun to level. Suck at world pvp. And everyone hits you with the “bro equip a shield and just tank” when you want to dps. But and end game with decent gear you are a steamroller.
is there some place online that explains the entire process? i didn’t make a hunter in retail until cata. it was much different by that point.
