Need help choosing a laptop out of 5 options

Making a New Post due to prior post going off rail-

So overall this laptop IS NOT going to be used for any hardcore gaming purposes, simply something for on the go video watching, business calling utilizing webcam, and occasionally some minor gaming. P.S. this isn’t for me for someone else that doesn’t use laptops much.

I am helping search for something for them in their budget of less than $1000 but preferably much cheaper. I don’t know much about PCs/Laptops but if I can get some help and/or new suggestions let me know. I noticed the Pro laptop is using an intel xe GPU I have no clue how they are and I am 100% positive the 3050 is way better but I also noticed many other things better on the pro laptop so let me know what you all think

I do prefer something from either MSI or Razer but probably not Razer as they have nothing in budget unless some uber July 4th deal is out so probably MSI only please.

Thank You

Below are 5 different laptops I have been looking into, if someone can check them out and tell me which one is the best and why much appreciated.

Off rail? I don’t see anything in that thread that was a problem.

No real need for a second one to be honest.

The MSI Cyborg from best buy seems to be the best deal. If your budget is the $1k I’d use the extra money to get an extended warranty as laptops aren’t as easy to fix yourself.

The Cyborg only has 8GB of Ram, that is not enough in 2023. You need to look for at least 16.

Sword only offers a 4GB GPU, this will cause problems in newer games and higher resolutions.

Summit does not have a dedicated GPU, so gaming will not happen on this laptop.

Thin lacks SSD storage (games can take a lot, so do programs), the 4050 is hit and miss, sometimes better than 3060, sometimes worse. Overall, I like the VRam performance more on the 3060, which plays a role in higher resolutions.

Stealth looks like the best offer on paper, bigger SSD, more RAM and VRam, not too heavy / large either.

I had an msi laptop and it was a piece of crap. I’d never buy one again. The only laptops that seems to last forever are macbooks and macbook airs.

Thanks everyone for the replies,

As stated though ignore the gaming aspect, only reason I am looking at gaming laptops is I trust the longevity of them and the Nvidia GPU. As for the Summit everything seems perfect besides of course the GPU but if the intel xe is alright on top of everything else it has then yea the SUmmit my be the go to. As for the others imma keep getting suggestions on those 5, but thank you again!!

In response to your reply @testoraeu - Cyborg 8gb of ram is a bit bad and if 8gb ram is that bad then ok no Cyborg lol. Sword since it wont be used for gaming is the GPU on the sword WAY better than the Intel Iris XE on the Summit? If not and they’re similar then the SUmmit seems better on paper due to everything else stat wise being way better besides the GPU which since gaming isn’t the main thing being done on this laptop the Summit might be the better option of those two. As for the stealth, it looks good just don’t know compared to the others. And for the thin, I just added it into the list as it was similar.

Everything MSI I have gotten has worked amazing which is why I am keen to choosing one. MSI is a very affordable brand, I would go Razer if I could but no lol to expensive and MSI seems to be one of the cheaper ones.

I wouldn’t buy ANY Electronics from Amazon…Just sayin~

didnt plan to  just using it as a link to the laptop and the cheapest idea on price

Damn sword is going for $1k bucks with 4GB video card what a rip, thats like 15 year old video card specs

Bump will do one last check tomorrow thanks every1

Last bump on this thread for today, hope to get some last responses

Just a thought, you could always try the Games, Gaming and Hardware forum. It’s more focused on hardware than the GD forums in my opinion

@ OP, I bought an MSI with a GTX 1650 just over a year ago for $700, and what you’ve described is exactly how I use it.

Thanks Xenna, yea I have a couple other forums up on like reddit and such taking last suggestions today then going to wait till July 4th see whats happening with deals.

Last bump taking any replies today been using other forums as well so got an idea now.

Most have said the Summit is overall the best laptop besides the GPU being intel XE everything else on the Summit beats the other 4, and the fact the laptop wont be used for gaming the Intel XE should be perfectly fine then if that is the case. But still taking suggestions!

Hi Ftwitachi. I don’t want to sound like a “hall monitor,” but you should be mindful of the forum rules in that bumping like this isn’t permitted.

Also, since this forum isn’t related to WoW, as Perl suggested:

Thanks for putting it back up top

Yes,

Let´s say, you can play League of Legends on the Summit, while you can play Red Dead Redemption on the sword. Or in other words, gaming at 50-60FPS vs 15-20FPS.

It´s about an increase of 300% in performance and I would also consider that you may want to record videos or cut them some day, maybe stream or need to log into WOW to do a daily, plug in a certain device … Nvidia does offer different features to Intel, so you could also check out if those that intel offers are sufficent for you.

Even if you don´t intend to play on it right now, feature wise a dedicated card is usually better and more versatile, plus it´s almost the same price, so why not go for the more advanced Laptop?

This also applies to Stealth, you get more for your money than on Summit or Sword.
