Stuck in loop starting MOP (not the remix) in June 2024 on a new character
Character: Mangalie on Area 52 server
To start her on the quest to begin MoP I …
Changed Chomie time to Pandaria
Accepted Pandaria intro quest in Stormwind
Took the air ship to Pandaria
Once in Pandaria (on the airship) I was given the quests
“Welcome Wagons”
“No Plan Survivors Contact with the Enemy”
The problem is**, I need to take the helicopter from the ship to ground in order to start the quests but there is no helicopter.
Things that I’ve tried to fix problem that have not worked:
Reload
Turn off all addons
Jump off the ship, this worked until I tried to enter the quest area then I was beamed back up to the Airship
Waited a couple days, and took character to Legion and WoD to quest
6/12/24 - Deleted the two MoP quests - reload - went to quest area and I was ported back to the airship (still no helicopter on the ship). So, this character is stuck in a MoP loop.
I really need some help getting this character un-stuck so I can start Pandaria please.
Specifically, to use a “parachute object” on the deck of the Skyfire (at the edge) to parachute down to where the NPCs are waiting to give you more quests.
you are already on the ground and are completely done with the Skyfire. Those quests are given by an NPC on the ground, after you’ve already parachuted down.
In that case you are already on the ground and have no need (and nothing left to do) to go to the airship.
If you’re already there, I have no idea why the game is interfering with your ability to get back to the ground. Maybe you have one more quest to complete and turn in, and that’s why it won’t let you leave the area?
To my knowledge. After doing quests in Stormwind I took the Airship to Pandaria. Then, they put you on a helicopter with machine gun and you kill the horde (sorry guys). Then, on the Airship (floating above the quest area) the admiral gives me those 2 quests that need to be completed on the ground. Next, I’m to use the rope/parachute item in order to get to the ground, so that I can do those two quest. The problem is, there is no object (rope or otherwise) to take me to the ground so that I can move forward in the objective. I’m stuck.
If I jump off the ship and try to do the ground quests, I’m teleported BACK to the Airship and cannot leave (unless I harth out). This character is stuck in a continual loop and cannot continue.
It might help to know that at the top of her quest log it says…
The quests you said you’ve already done (after shooting the Horde NPCs with a helicopter) are done after you have parachuted down to the ground. Whatever the issue is, it’s not related to those quests.
As you said, you can get to the ground by jumping (or, I assume, a flying mount), but you get teleported back to the ship if you “enter the quest area”. Which quests? And are there other Pandaria starter quests still in your log?
No rope on the ship so I jumped down (many times). I go to quest area and within seconds it teleports me back to the ship.
As I said, I started this days ago. I’ve gone thru this loop at least 10 times.
Also, in the past 18 years playing wow I’ve done this quest at least 60 times, so I’m familiar with that should happen.
Just NOW I tried it again and it finally let me complete the two ground quests, and it did NOT port me back to the ship. Yipee!
I have no idea why this has happened to this particular character, maybe has something to do with Pandaria Remix? Or her name use to belong to another player? No idea.
I’m having the same problem. I used the parachute to get down to the ground, picked up the two quests there, and was suddenly back on the ship after I started running towards the quest mobs. Jumping off, and flying off, ports me back to the ship when I get close to the ground. The unstuck service leaves me on the boat too. At least I can queue for dungeons.
I found that if you get on a flying mount, fly straight up as high as you can above the airship, then fly straight over to Pawdon Village you should be okay. Just try to avoid the area around the Skyfire as much as you can.
