I interpret the announcement as saying we cannot send our HC characters to an anniversary PVP realm but I’ve been told that by “normal” they mean non-hc. Hoping to get blue clarification on this as it’s a pretty big factor in decision making for which server to start on.

The answer is quite simple. Is your hardcore character on PVP realm? PVP realms only allow transfers from other PVP realms.
@Loamysand Not true. Currently on hardcore upon death you can transfer to any classic era normal or pvp realm. Thus people want clarification as to if blizzard’s post about being able to transfer to a “normal realm” means any non-hardcore fresh realm or only a pve fresh realm.

really wish someone from blizzard would clarify this because a wowhead post says HC can transfer to PVE or PVP but the official blizzard post is ambiguous.

They really need to change this. Not only will it save them a lot of server capacity on the PvP server for launch day, but it just makes sense.
Hardcore is a higher difficulty threshold than a PVP server. So there’s no reason to not allow the transfer.
I was planning to level up on the hardcore server, but since I can’t transfer to the PVP server (which means I will never find groups for PVP because the PVE server people are never interested in BGs for some reason), I have to skip HC.

yee I’m in the same dilemma, probably just gonna create a HC toon and try and transfer it to the pvp realm right away. if it doesnt work ill skip HC until more phases are out.

If you cannot transfer to a pvp realm then I see no point in leaving defias pillager.
Anyone got word on this? Insane that we can’t get a blue post confirm this.
I think it’s funny that Blizzard didn’t go into detail about the server transfer or even try to clarify this. You would think someone would have mentioned it
