Toggable, configurable sound effects when someone types into a channel.
There are a small handful of addons that do this, but I think it’s a necessity at this point and should be baked right into the game’s original interface.

They also need a sound to indicate the server has 30 secs before shut down and not just for Tuesdays .
That would be nice to have in the base interface, I use Elvui already though and it’s part of their options.
This is another thing FFXIV does well. Chat notification sounds are fully customizable right out of the box.
I am hopeful WoWs upcoming UI overhaul considers some of these really basic features other games have had for years.
Yes! FFXIV is what made me think of downloading addons for chat sounds in WOW like 7 years ago lol. If they’re redoing the UI, now is the time to add something like this. I hope we can get some traction on this post for visibility.
As long as you can opt out of others’ sounds.
What are the names of these? I would like having these addons!
I_Hear_You_All 6.0 and Prat 3.0 are the ones I know of. Prat has a TON of chat features, too much for my tastes. I_Hear_You_All is much easier to manage for me.
Ah thank you so much! I like to keep all my chats in separate tabs so it will be nice to know when gchat on my druids is going off or in /say when someone speaks!
Ty so much!
