Hey Guys,
I was wondering, for tbc classic (if it releases), should my draenei enhancement shammy go skinning/mining or mining/jewelcrafting instead? I wanted to go Jewelcrafting, but I’m wondering…is Jewelcrafting a good profession to make gold in Tbc, even if I don’t raid?
I understand that some good gem recipes come from raiding mount hyjal. Or should I go with mining or herbalism instead?
Thank you
I’d say if you’re looking to make gold then go mining/herb.
JCs recipes are mainly all tied too raids/reputations.

Oh really? Go mining or herbs then eh? I see, ty
Well if you spend alot of time dungeoning enchanting is a good profession as is jc. Due to the frequency of blue shards from dungeon blues. Mining/herb/skinning is good for those who farm outside of instances.
Thank you. I was thinking of what to do to earn gold since I most likely won’t be raiding in TBC. I like gathering stuff, especially mining
If you’re raiding you’re going to be Leatherworking/JC
most likely
Gathering professions are for alts
If he is melee he will have to be a blacksmith for bis as well

Jewel crafting will make money im sure.
Depends on your class, but everybody must have leatherworking.
Go with Leatherworking/Macesmithing on your Enhancement for the most PvE benefit. You’ll make most of your gold farming motes, not mining or making gems. That’s what profession alts are for, anyway.
Jesus. What part of “I don’t plan to raid” is apparently bouncing off everybody?
That said, I don’t really have any advice, I’m afraid, OP (other than “ignore the ideas that you have to craft at all, that you have to have leatherworking, and that you have to have two crafting professions, in ascending order of how hard you should ignore them starting at ignoring even the first one very hard indeed”). I like crafting. I can tell you that if you never set food in a raid, but both mine and go to dungeons, you’ll have plentiful both gems and slots to fill with crafted items…although, without raiding, not the absolute best of either, but there’s no reason to worry about that.

Flipping addy ore into gems to cut can make you bank if you get the good patterns early enough.
Keep in mind every man and his dog is going to be leatherworking so there will be a good market for skins, including clefthoof leather.
The really good recipes do come from MH but so do the matts for the gems themselves until SWP is released. Alot is in the air in regards to the actual release schedule of content though.
If you care about pve you need blacksmith
If not I would get tailor to sell cds
Jc is good if you get the good cuts
I intend to go Mining/JC. Even without endgame recipes, prospecting alone is money.
Oh really? Prospecting makes good money? It’s worth it to prospect the ore instead of selling the ore in its raw form, on the AH? Sorry, I’ve never take Jewelcrafting before so I was wondering
If the bots are as active as they are now, finding ores in the open world is going to be near impossible. If you can find a supplier for ore you can make good money prospecting ore and flipping gems. May also want to consider blacksmithing initially for the one handed maces as they are really good for melee.
Alchemy Herb makes one self sufficient and good stacks of gold on every expansion.
That’s a server by server basis. I see rich thorium veins all the time on my server.
Yeah, jewel crafting will make loads of gold. And that’s a great profession for a Draenei in terms of roleplay and immersion.
i’d go mining/skinning while leveling up your character and then i know it is a grind but drop skinning at 70 and pick up jc and back track for your own mats.
the reason for the skinning and mining combo while leveling is because people are going to want the mats for leatherworking and their own jc or bs characters so these items will be overpriced at the start, even with the market flooded with materials.
at 70 with both epic land mount and if you can fund it, epic flying, you can quickly gather your own ore nodes and gather up the supplies easily to pl jc.
