I need an addon that tells me very clearly when to interrupt. i dont use elvui. need another addon that does this. quartz doesn’t seem to be working for me. i set it up to change color but nothing happens. any help with this would be great. thanks!

DBM does that for bosses.
For mobs? Just pay attention and don’t pull too many that need to be interrupted.
DBM tells you when to interrupt. It works for bosses and trash in M+. There are a bunch of plater profiles that color code what to interrupt too.

The default cast bar should show whether a spell is interruptible or not. If it’s grey and has a shield around the icon, it’s not interruptible. You can also use an addon such as Quartz to customize the cast bar, i.e. make it bigger or change the colors. If you want an “Interrupt this now!” alert, DBM will do that. I also use WeakAuras to indicate the cooldown on my interrupt.

Kui Nameplates gives me a better-quality nameplate experience.
Sure that looks really clear all by itself in a static comp or screen shot.
For a 0.75 second cast buried in a pack of other mobs that are also casting things, not so clear.
Find the one with a mana bar,
don’t let it get off a heal or a fear.
Also, CC is a thing, though we don’t use it to isolate a mob, it can stop a cast if your interrupt is on cool down. Problem is, they will begin the cast again when the CC breaks.
I use a WA to make the cast bar large and readable if that kind of thing helps?
The reason i need it to change color is that my eyesight isnt what it used to be and the color change helps alot. I cant seem to get quartz to change color when a spell is interruptable. I cant find a guide on it either.

Seriously, though. I understand the OP’s problem. I’d also like the UI to be more clear about when “uninterruptible” spells are interruptible via stun, freezing trap, knockback, etc. (I know never with dungeon/raid bosses, but occasionally works with world rares.).
Just get Plater. It comes with many other benefits, too (for example, if you’re on a quest, mobs that you need to kill for the quest have different colored health bars!)
is there a way to hide nameplates of npcs when they are in a building or not in line of sight? im currently using planter
Do people actually need addons for interrupts or is this a late sunday thread? 
Id like an addon that stops me from wasting my interrupt when someone beats me to it by a millisecond.
