Need a third neutral faction

Earthen dont really fit into the horde or alliance. Making them join one is silly. It doesn’t make sense. The story of unlocking the earthen was faction agnostic. An alliance earthen or a horde earthen? what? they are Earthen of Dornagol. They are not expats.

Panda it made sense, the faction war was raging at the time. The game system segregated the players by faction. Now we don’t.

A third Neutral faction would be nice just from a story/world building aspect. Put panda’s, Blood/(High) elves Dracthyr, Earthen.

This faction could join a group with either horde or alliance players. They could have their own leaders and stories. The systems which require factions (like BG) could remain Horde v. Alliance and the neutral players could pledge as mercenaries for that. It could work without splitting the player base. Makes more sense for the story and world building.

I actually like this idea, so kind of tired of the alliance this and horde that sometimes, would be refreshing to see a change like this. I would join it

It makes more sense to you for a race to join both factions during a raging faction war? To me, it’s the opposite way around. Earthern being neutral makes more sense to me than Pandaren.

You could even expand it to all races, but I don’t know how I feel about that.

I think the base and allied races up to BFA have strong cultural and historical ties to the original factions. (maybe less goblins and vulpera) At least with vulpera the allied race story involved the horde specifically.

I would definitely be happy with adding goblins to the neutral faction as well.

Just more choice in general!

In this time of peace, let me pledge allegiance to the Horde so I can go into Org for my bathroom breaks

Get rid of all factions and form a 1 Azeroth government.

The playable unearthen are specfically unbound I mean it is irony of ironies they would be locked into a faction choice.

Good point, however at the time the game systems were so hamstrung by your faction. Now we don’t have that restriction

User name checks out.

lol I can see the humor in that, yes.

it’s crazy to me that there are so many neutral factions across azeroth but you can’t be part of them. You certainly can dress up and run around like one but you’re horde or alliance. A rebuilt theramore, kirin tor, cartel or explorers league option would be really cool to have as a “third” story option going forward

Well, yeah honestly.

What do the Earthen gain from aligning with a particular faction? They’re both at peace with each other so it’s not like either would demand a newcomer declare their allegiance, like they might during wartime.

What would stop an Earthen adventurer from just wanting to go get a quest in Orgrimmar today and go shopping in Stormwind tomorrow? The factions have no rational reason to care at this time in the game.

OP has a point.

i would not mind going to other factions area as a guest

Would of been nice to do 4 factions from the get go in game to represent the 4 factions of warcaft 3.

I’m not against it. PVP might be awkward though. Unless you have to chose a side in that. FFXIV has three factions in PVP and it’s not great.

They are joining the people who basically saved their race. Now they have the free will to join the Horde or make a good choice and join the Alliance.

Vulpera are also a stretch in the factions, sure the horde helped them against an alliance assault, but why would they join a faction in the middle of a world war rather than say thank you and peacing out.

I think I remember dev interviews that they had played with that idea initially but eventually decided to go with just the two.

It makes sense, since NE and Forsaken were initially kinda shoehorned into their respective factions.
