NEED a minimum i-lvl requirement

I am sooo tired of joining a BG and having useless people show up. Example this kid shows up at level 20 in the bottom of the 20-29 bracket with 21 i-lvl and does 30 DPS

Paladin’s Chestplate

Item Level 1
Binds when equipped
Chest ===> NO STATS AT ALL
Plate
Durability 36 / 55

Expeditionary Plate Armguards

Item Level 3
Binds when picked up
Wrist ======> NO STATS AT ALL
Plate
Durability 13 / 20

Worn Wooden Shield

Item Level 1
Binds when equipped
Off Hand ==========> NO STATS AT ALL
Shield
Durability 14 / 25

MISSING BOTH RINGS ===> DOUDLE ZERO… GOOSE EGGS… EMPTY SLOTS

Expeditionary Plate Girdle

Item Level 5
Binds when picked up
Waist
Plate
+1 Strength
+1 Intellect
+1 Stamina
Durability 14 / 20

Expeditionary Plate Shoulderguard

Item Level 7
Binds when picked up
Shoulder
Plate
+1 Strength
+1 Intellect
+1 Stamina
+2 Haste
Durability 22 / 35

Saurifeather Gloves of the Quickblade

Item Level 16
Binds when equipped
Hands
Cloth ========> ON A PALADIN
+2 Intellect =====> RET PALADIN
+2 Stamina
+2 Critical Strike
+2 Versatility

we NEED a minimum i-lvl requirement for BG, this is ridiculous and F@!#ing worthless

Do the leveling BGs just not have enough end game Chads minmaxing their max level 29 character?

well the other team had 2 party syncers… we got kids with 20 i-level…

so yeah Blizzards “fun and fair play environment”

They’re playing the game how it was meant to be played (doing a BG as a break from questing/dungeons while leveling). I don’t see the issue.

I talked to my dad (first time in years) last night, he works at Blizzard, he said it’s high on their priority list.

Should just up-level any gear to, say, 395 or something …

with empty slots and grey items they aren’t doing anything like questioning or running dungeons. those reward gear. running around opening zones gives xp. so does picking flowers. neither of those reward gear.
how is the most engaging part of wow a break from the rest of the benign activities? fighting against other players isnt a break from pve rotations against predictable AI.
at level 60 you cant run dragon flight dungeons until you have a certain ilevel but it’s perfectly fine to lose a battleground for xp?
this attitude is why some players at 70 dont want to win bgs, they just want the free honor for showing up.

Are you the best player in every BG you’ve ever joined, and hard carry your team to victory 100% of the time?

no they dont need an ilvl req, what they need to do is scale all gear up to the ilvl max for that bracket of a dungeon blue. It would solve a good chunk of the issue ( not the grey/white item issues but you can only do so much to danger proof for players.)

best is subjective. i offer strategies based on the enemy team composition but i cant make people listen.

Throw templates on leveling BGs and merge the xpoff and xpon guys together and call it a day. Everyone wins.

It’s not at all subjective, but my question was rhetorical anyway.

Yes. Unless im losing.

this will just make already LAZY children LAZIER, why is it such and issue to ASK for a team who actually TRIES in PvP.

It is wasting everyone elses time when people show up in GREY or MISSING gear in a FU$%ing TEAM event.

STOP defending this as “play as intended”

Stop being dumb for a minute, lvling through bgs is terrible enough for gearing. You can cry all you want about every player not turning there xp off to farm out bis gear ( some of which can take weeks of gameplayed time) I offer a solution that would eliminate the majority of terrible geared players from bgs.

With the scalling system from wod you could make the crafted dreadful mop gear and be set from lvls 15-60 how is that lazy? that’s knowing how the game works and gearing accordingly. players with more knowledge and patience can farm other key pieces allowing them to just pvp without having to worry about regearing every 5 lvls to be competitive.

I never once defended players showing up in white and greys, its annoying having them on my team. unlike yo though I am looking for real solutions instead of crying and moaning on the forums while calling everyone lazy lol.

LoL I am not calling you lazy, if Blizzard gave every player a blank set of gear for PvP THAT would encourage people to be lazy and never get gear.

I don’t expect people to be in BiS
I don’t expect people to turn off exp and run 100 dungeons for gear
BUT
I do expect people to show up with something more than EMPTY slots
I do expect people to show up NOT wearing GREYs
I do expect to have people who are ABLE to assist the team instead of being a handicap

We’re talking about leveling brackets here. We might as well give the players template/scaling because the low levels are not worth worrying about beyond that.

Heh it’s kind of written like fan fiction, nothing too serious.
Something that I will say, is even in low gear these players are showing up to play.
This imho is pretty important. We need more players! Always.
Scaling up from the lower ends of characters item levels would work well, as it does at end game.

I visualized a working weapon rack in the starting room/gates which would allow players to select a Template item level. Missing slots filled etc.
This is kind of what works with Party Sync Templates, so why not for everyone else too?
Characters who choose to use the traditional route for gearing would not click on this rack.
We could theoretically have both templates and authentically geared players in the same matches.
I do like the scaling idea too.

i thought all bgs outside of ranked play dont matter?

there it is again… a level 42 wearing this

Felburner’s Cord

Item Level 16
Transmogrified to: Ren’dorei Belt
Binds when picked up
Waist
Cloth
+2 Intellect
+2 Stamina
+1 Critical Strike
+2 Haste
Durability 24 / 30
Classes: Warlock
Requires Level 10

and when I try to tell the person how they can get some easy gear to fix it…

“I’m just leveling”
“it doesn’t matter bro”
“you mad kid?”

It’s like these clowns show up on purpose to fail, then cry when they get ONE shotted by a hunter.

I give him props for one thing… he left before the game started because the other team had 5 hunters… he knew he was going to get his a$$ destroyed BUT still wont replace his gear

SIGH
