hey, I’m almost level 25 I Was wondering what would be a good gold making for 20th anniversary realm to get my mount at 40

If you’re Alliance try farming magic dust in Westfall. Or heck even if you’re Horde it’s probably worth the trip. Those should go for near the price of a black lotus and the drop rate is fairly high (around ~10%). Two or three of them will probably get you over 100g on the AH.

The Dust Devils there are the only mobs that drop them and they’re extremely useful in both raids and PvP.

If it’s over-farmed just wait by the tower far to the southeast in Westfall. That’s probably the easiest spawn point to find and it’s the furthest out of the way to hit if you’re doing a full loop so it might be the best spot to just wait for one to spawn in front of your face.

what mobs are magic dust of off ?

Dust Devils. They’re the little tan colored tornadoes.

I would recommend getting closer to 40 first though before you farm gold for your mount. If you loot everything and vendor all the grey items and refrain from blowing gold on items on the AH you might just be able to save up enough without having to go out of your way for farm gold before level 40.

Plus gold is much easier to farm if you’re 10+ levels higher.

fish for oily blackmouth and then farm up stranglekelp along western wetlands. If you have alchemy you can make free action potions.

To add to what Eccles responded with, fishing is nice income. Around mid 30s I went off the coast of Tanaris and fished the pools up in down the coast. It’s really good cash flow and little to none aggression towards you from the opposite faction. Sell all the mats in AH, and hope for maybe a few recipe drops worth something. I did it on phase 2 with my hunter and I believe it took about a week.

A couple gathering professions will get you quite far actually. Some low level herbs are still worth a fair bit of gold, more than enough to get you to 100g by the time you’re 40.

Mining is a reliable method.

Min-max players want Engineering. So, there is always a steady demand for copper bars, which players are happy to pay 1g+ per stack to avoid farming themselves.

Usually Light Feathers that mage/priest need for slow fall sell for 1g each and have around a 50% drop rate from Harpies in Stonetalon, which you can also use to grind mobs for xp.
