Need a consistent way to earn archivists research

Current method is stupid, random and grindy. Unfun.

The vault helps if you don’t care about the loot it offers.

I’m just getting my Korthia gear up to 220 and then being done with it.

Bring back rep tabards. Let us wear an archivist tabard and collect things to turn in from dungeons and raids.

I hate that everything is pigeonholed. There are no options, no alternate routes. There is ONE source of soul ash/cinders. ONE source of the archivist items.

I think this is one of my biggest issues with SL. Back in Legion you could do a variety of activities to collect currency for legendaries, etc. Why aren’t there WQs that award small bits of soul ash/cinders? Why can’t I get a bit of ash/cinders from each final dungeon boss, increasing with difficulty? The game would be so much more rewarding if I could work towards my goals MY way and not the way the game forces me to.

I’m sure we’ll never see a tabard return, but it would’ve been nice if we had a sanctum 5man with bosses that dropped relics. I get that a lot of people don’t like rare farming and a handful of dailies to raise rep.

The dailies are for the undying whatever. Sometimes it rewards archivists things, but not always. Hunting rares is the only consistent way to get the rep…and running around a zone waiting for stars to pop up isn’t fun for me.

The way to get Archivist research is to play in Korthia. And there are tons of things always going on, there.

If you think playing the game is “grindy” then it’s probably time to move on.

I think the method is fine, but the gain is slow. I noticed relics have like a 2-1 conversation rate. Every 2 relics gets you 1 rep. So 500 relics is 250 rep, etc.

Which is too much! Do you know many relics that takes to get rank 6? If they buffed it to a 1 relic - 1 rep rate then it would actually level at a pretty reasonable pace.

My issue is not the grindy part, but the fact that Blizzard turns off the relic faucet. I kill all rares, do the dailies, collect the lootables, including the items inside of the rift. And when you’ve completed all that, they turn off the drops and don’t even allow nests and purple mobs to continue dropping currency.

I just don’t understand why they punish people that want to no life it. Even if it was just purple mobs and not nests or treasure caches, it would still give me some form of relics to chase after once i’ve completed everything for the day.

The grind to rank 6 wasn’t that stressful, but it could’ve been a lot better with endless drops from purple mobs.

Because if they didn’t, people would complain about how they’re forced to play in Korthia 24 hours a day.

The WoW community is VERY predictable.

too true. can’t please everyone I guess.
