Nectar, Saatva, Leesa, or Purple?

I believe this is hardware. It’s at least off topic.

Which one would you get? Wife and I are side sleepers. Our bed is some 10 year old Simmons beauty rest.

We’re average weight. Biggest complaint is I am a fidgeter. So one that will have less disturbance.

Budget isn’t really a concern.

Right now leaning towards the Leesa as it’s a hybrid coil/foam system.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

We have a “Bob-o-pedic” sport hybrid (You probably knows them) from the local chain here and love it…and don’t ask me why they call it a “sport” mattress unless you call you know a sport…I’m a back sleeper while the wife is back and side.

Personally, I would go with Nectar or Saatva. I also have a co-worker who bought a purple for his daughter and she loves it. Look into what the return policy is regardless of which mattress you get.

It’s interesting because there’s a very clear difference between the professional reviewers, and places like consumerreports etc., that praise the “bed in box” for quality and different features.

However, looking at reddit returns pretty much the same complaints for almost all bed-in-box offerings, primarily:

  1. Low quality materials
  2. Low endurance/longevity
  3. Pain over time

I don’t know if they are more to believe than the reviewers, or if they are just the loudest voices.

For example one of the people who complained about the Leesa and Nectar options suggested instead to “make your own bed” then detailed how they awesomely made their own. A lot of that comes across less as objective reasoning and more in line with strange form of elitism/hippiness.

Reddit is always full of complaints some justified and some not. I would trust consumer reports reviews and their customer feedback more then reddit.

That’s true. I looked into the Saatva some more, and it does seem to be more of a conventional type of mattress.

I am probably going to go with that one - right now they have some discounts so it is only around $1600.

Roommate and I have been pretty happy with our Tuft & Needles. One was purchased ~5 years ago, the other purchased earlier this year.

Any coil spring conventual (i guess) built mattress that’s firm and doesn’t smell funny, not itchy and clean when i get it, and cheap.
its gonna be thrashed within 2 yrs, it’s not just a bed, it’s also a couch, play-pen and storage. Firm is important. No laying in the bed, just on. I’ve used waterbeds, even slept in/on them. They’re interesting, but i’d need more than one bedroom before i bought one. I’m really sorry you haven’t been able to get your video card as soon as you would like. Buck up. (pats Draenei, gives Paladin a hug.)

Lol well I’ve tapped out on spending for a while now so at least this was a more grown up decision.

I can sleep easy knowing I made the right call.

Get it? GET IT?
