Necromancer>Warlock

I think Diablo has clearly shown that WoW dropped the ball on not inclurding Necromancer as a class yet.

Isn’t the biggest complain about Necromancer is that until you build stupid amounts of armor the pets are pretty much wet paper towels with an annoying mechanic such as if one is dead you need to use a corpse to rez before you can apply the buff that buffs their damage and heals them so it is likely if you are ever short on corpses, you end up playing a never-ending game of catch-up as you spend more corpses reviving them because you can’t apply the buff that keeps them alive?

Warlock overall seems to perform much, much better than D4 Necro.

Feels bad man

d2 necromancer was pretty cool. until you fought something that hit with elemental damage and your army of skeletons turned into paper towels.

Yes. They are the only class from original WC1 that is still not in game yet. I want the WC1 Necrolyte version put into the game. As a hero class. That only orcs and humans can be.

Or when you have your blood golem out and it gets swarmed and you die.

Not really having an issue keeping pets alive in D4 yet.

Ideally a World of Warcraft Necromancer wouldn’t require corpses to raise the dead, or would have some sort of thrall mechanic where they can raise a few NPCs to serve as “pets” using the abilities they had in life and which the Necromancer can persistently resurrect should they fall in combat; like a few mages for pure ranged damage, or a couple rogues alongside a mage or two for PvP, or something tanky alongside all to hold aggro for you in the open world.
I think, anyway.

Endgame they die so quick, its sad. Endgame dungeons take an eternity to beat with them.

Also you have to sacrifice TWO abilities to actually use pets in D4.

Which kind of forces you into either sacrifice builds, or pet builds with very limited tools.

WoW has necromancers – they’re called Death Knights. Blame the LK dev team for taking so much of the WC2 death knights’ necromantic abilities away so they could reinvent the wheel and make a shiny new “hero class.”

DK and necros are very differrent in lore. The DKs most of them are not evil. Necrolytes are the orignal necromacners and all of them are evil. And they have a very different spell set.

How end game we talking?

ive had them dying early game too to bosses, but it depends on what skeletons you pick from book of the dead. Tier 3 and 4 ive seen they die so quick its a wonder how any build can use them endgame.

I can almost clear the tier 3 capstone dungeon (lvl 70) at lvl 60 using a summoner build. I am doing nightmare dungeons for xp at +7 my level.

Extremely hardy, imo. Like all builds, need some correct gear, though.

Warlocks just need a glyph to turn their demon into undead.

Boom there’s your Necro

I like to think Diablo necromancers and Warlocks would be bros. Their mobility SUCKS so they’re just walking together behind the rest of the party as they rush off to kill things.

Its why I’m just yeeting bone spears at things in d4. Not exactly how I wanna play but eh I’m working with it

I went bone spear initially, but I always go back to summoning.

Bone spear has more burst, but I find summoning just as able to clear stuff. Depending on the tier affixes, easier.

DK’s are Necromancers.
