I was watching an old Nixxiom video about How to Class. As soon as the Necromancer part came on I started to think that Blizz dropped the ball with that twice.
i mean are dks not necromancers?
I’m not sure what they would bring to the table.
While I agree with those that say necros and DKs are not the same thing, DKs do cover the whole necromancer vibe when it comes to spells and abilities.
And for a class that has great control over minions, Hunters and Warlocks have that covered.
What would be their role?
Edit: I’ve always thought necromancy would make a good fourth spec for DKs. Like a ranged spec or something.
I think it’d be neat if you could have a glyph to reskin warlock demons with skeletal variants.
Bump up the range on unholy DK abilities and make them scale with Int. Literally all you need.

DK’s fill the Necromancer niche, so no need for a Necromancer
When I think of necromancers… I think of that Undead unit from Warcraft 3 that could “sacrifice” itself to become a spectral ghost. If I’m not mistaken, they were the skilled necromancers who helped create the first Death Knights, right?
DKs feel more like warriors who use death magic to fight.
What if they release another caster and they take raise dead, raise ally, army of the dead, and death and decay away from DKs?
This is the easiest way to do it. Give demo locks a glyph of undead, and bam, necromancers.
And here we go again …
Ehhh undead isn’t what warlocks are about. They’re about demons and fel magic.
Just slapping a glyph on them feels really… dumb. That would be like saying just because my undead hunter has all undead pets (which she does) that makes her a necromancer!
It won’t be enough. It would be a repeat of the Void Elf situation.
Hunters aren’t casters, so not really a good comparison. Everyone is saying DKs fill the niche, which I don’t agree with. If they don’t want to add the class, the glyph is the easiest option and makes the most sense for the minion spawning aspect that a necromancer might do.
And isn’t demo more of a shadow spec than fel? I haven’t played it in a bit but I don’t recall them using much fel.
Warlocks aren’t a good comparison either since their whole shtick is fel magic and demons 
And Sylvanas is closer to a necromancer than a warlock is. She can raise the dead and uses death magic.
Ehhh it’s based more on fire.
Alright then we can just add a Necromancer class. Easy fix.
They’re only necromancies in the way that paladins are priests.
Necromancers, but when they summon undead minions it randomly pulls Undead player characters.
Undead player idling in town suddenly gets a loading screen: “WTF? Where am I?”
Necro player: “I need to kill this elite. Go get 'em, Sparky.”
Undead player: “Work work…”
If I get summoned by a necromancer, I want to complain like the blueberry pet.
IIRC he had some pretty good lines.
DK’s were necromancer souls resurrected into warrior bodies.
