Necromancer + Tinker please

I keep seeing Tinker…great!
Add Necromancer and Bard as well. Give each a healer and tank spec.

Tinker: Not really my cup of tea but it’s fine.

Necromancer: Doesn’t feel needed with DK and warlock being a thing. Feels like it would just repeat design space.

Bard: This I actively have to say no to. A bard spec will be expected to be a ‘support role’ and support DPS has been an unmitigated disaster, as was very predictable. Either it’s OP mandatory in top end content or it’s horribly gimped in standard gameplay.
I’d rather Blizzard just add in playable instruments to the game. Don’t make it a class.

I know this is unpopular take, but I really feel like Blizzard needs to not make any new classes for a while and just focus on polishing existing specs and existing class fantasy.

anyone who thinks DK’s are the same as your cloth caster necromancers don’t understand the fantasy.

we do not have a class that raises the dead and use plague magic to command an army.

Warcraft has the fantasy hence warcraft 3. Vanilla WoW did too - Naxxramas had both as well.

newsflash to modern wow players: Necromancy comes in multiple forms, and certain spells can be shared across classes (frost/fire bolts, death coils, raising dead, etc.).

Death knight is a type of necromancer, but not the one players in here are asking for. They are asking for the cloth casters like Kel’Thuzad was before he became a Lich. Not that complicated… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Not exactly bard but Murmur’s elemental power over sound in the WoW universe could be used to do… stuff? :robot: :loudspeaker:

Certain the draenei and orcs should be familiar with what happened to auchindoun. :microphone::robot:

The Shockwave Truncheon dropped from them might be the closest to wielding such… uh… blunt sound power. :hammer::robot:

Thanks but no thanks. We already have DK.

Its true that Necromancer is a different fantasy than Unholy DK.

Necro vs DK is basically the same as Holy Priest vs Paladin. Similar holy characters, but different fantasies.

However, since Tinker is a class fantasy that has existed in the game world and can be seen everywhere already on our own sides but somehow is not covered in any playable class; that would make more sense to add as a class.

Actually, Blood is really close to the way a necromancer should work. They just need to add the far right unholy talent tree into the blood talent tree. Replace some of the talents that dont really matter in blood and voila. Complete Necromancer. Would be awesome.

Necromancer only. No tinker

This would be a fantastic Tank, Healer and Dps type class.

Tank using a mech suit similar to a guardian druid to buff their abilities and fight mobs supplemented with some turrets and bombs/alchemical attacks.
Healer using alchemical tinctures and bombs with turrets that heal allies.
DPS using turrets, bombs and the occasional alchemical tincture to blast enemies.

All using mail armor and ranged weapons.

Would love to see this go through.

Also another one that could be a Tank, Healer and Dps type class.

Tank using an abomination or other strong undead minion as the main tank unit that shares health with the necromancer character and imparts significant health and stamina bonus’ to the Necromancer. All necromancer spells effect location management allowing the tank to position both themselves and the abomination without issues. Meanwhile additional abilities temporarily summon other undead to do larger attacks and defensives as well as just general additional dps.
Healer spec would feature the use of blood magic and mending flesh binding their allies together and unmaking their enemies. Some use of shadowfrost magic and a few spells that summon undead minions to do some abilities.
Dps would be focused more on shadowfrost with blood magic mixed in and occasional undead minions to boost dps and do some other things.

Gives us that army of the dead Tank, Lich like caster and a fleshmending madman healer all in one.

Uses either cloth or mail armor I would think. Same sort of weapons as you see in Mage but I’d add polearms as an option. Scythes and all that.

Another one I could see as a Tank, Dps and Healer specced setup however its also possible this one would be just healer and dps or some other. I like the idea that this is Azeroth reaching out to some folk who are using her power, her song, to enhance their allies and break the will of enemies. So a lot of Support on this one.

Tank I’d think would be the hardest to figure but using the song of Azeroth they empower themselves and allies to do the roll.
Healer is using Azeroths song to heal and enhance allies increasing their defenses for big hits and lowering some enemies effects.
DPS using Azeroths song to strike fear and weakness into enemies and empower allies to do stronger hits and break down defenses.

Until Unholy is a ranged cloth wearer we do not have Necromancer.

So yes, please add necromancer.

As a spec for Warlock would even work - or just for DK.

Because a very persistent vocal minority has been pushing for it ever since Blizzard added a class that didn’t originate in the RTS games, regardless of how well tinkers would fit into whatever is the current patch and often grasping at whatever straws possible to convince themselves that Blizzard is teasing them. There were no tinkers in 11.0, or 11.1, or 11.2, they’re not going to be in 12.0, and the belief in their chances of being in 13.0 comes entirely from a vague synopsis of TLT’s plot.

Unholy DK exists. It already encompasses the necromancer fantasy and has done so for the better part of two decades, with newer expansions regularly giving them access to new types of minions. Blizzard shouldn’t add an entire class that would be a glorified warlock doing the same things as Unholy, but better, in the process likely gutting half of Unholy’s identity like how they redesigned Demo to accommodate DHs. They shouldn’t pervert real warlocks by forcing a necromancer spec, hero spec, or cosmetic options onto them, either.

Has never been important to the story, will never be important to the story, and has no place in the Alliance and Horde’s armies. They shouldn’t try to shoehorn it into rogues as a spec, either.

A tank spec is anathema to what would fundamentally be a cloth-wearing caster and a leather-wearing support.

It’s not a real tinker unless it can ride a mech in combat.
