Given the fact that we now know from Maldraxxus and the Primus that necromancy isn’t evil, I think it’s time for a necromancer class,
I know there were bad necromancers like Kel’thuzad but he is finally dead, buried and cremated, so we should now have a necromancer class as lore wise it could work now.

Sadly, I don’t think Necromancers are happening any time soon.
The best we can hope for is if one day Blizzard lets us infuse any class with any Cosmic Force, then we could take a frost mage and infuse it with Death, and get a Necromancer out of it.
In before the mouth breathers say Necromancers are redundant because of Death Knights.
Look, I would love to play a necromancer. I miss my old necro from Everquest. I play one in other games like Diablo 4. In reality, we are never going to see one here in WoW. They would have to strip the death knight bare to be able to do it.
While I am not opposed to a Necromancer class. I think it would need some work to stand out against Death Knights and Demonology Warlocks. They’d need a way to make it seem unique.
No death knights are melee, necromancers are ranged dps.
Eh, they’ve already destroyed Good Demo to make room for Demon Hunters. What’s the harm in destroying Bad Demo too? lol
Warlocks don’t summon skeletons they summon demons.

Yea no, ship has sailed sadly…it needed to be a thing for SL but wasn’t going to happen with all the turmoil and them still catering to China at the time
I’m just hoping we get the necro face tattoos at some point for DKs (though night elves can pretty much get there)
Necromancers in EQ were a rot and support class that could summon death pets. They also had Shadowknights that were the melee version of Necros.
I would love a necromancer class in WoW, if they could do it without taking things away from locks and DKs.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t WoW come to an end in China recently? So they no longer have to cater to them, they can do their own thing.
As I recall though, they just used to replace skulls on armor with something less offensive in the Chinese version of the game anyway. They could just replace skeletons with living dolls in the Chinese version and be done with it lol.
But I heard WoW is banned in China anyway, correct me if I am wrong though?
I’ve said this in another thread, I honestly would be fine if they gave Warlocks their own unique version of Metamorphosis. I also think that both Warlocks and DHs should get customizable Metamorphosis transformations.
Remove both Affliction and Unholy from Warlock and Death Knight and give it to Necromancers. There you go.
Unholy I thought was the most fun spec for DKS but in most expansions, it’s just not been feasible as Frost.

Exactly. So I see no reason that both Warlocks and Demon Hunters can’t have their own versions. The discourse between Warlock players and Demon hunter players is so weird to me. Let both sides have fun things. It’s a Blizzard choice, not a Player choice.
