So when do we get our Necromancer Class Blizzard. They already are in the game as NPC but I would love to play one. Currently the closer class to it is Unholy DK and im not a big fan for Melee class.
With Shadowland coming its the perfect timing for it. And usually one of 2 expension they add a new (Class/Race)
I would picture them either as
-Healer using a “Banshee/Val’kyr” to channel theses healing
-Tank Spec (Using abomination corpse as body shield to cover thier clothes outfit)

Necromancer is in the game already, and has been since WotLK.

I’ve seen World of Warcraft Necromancers as being a caster class that summons temporary pets as their primary mode of damage somewhat akin to the Theurgists and Animists of Dark Age of Camelot. They would operate at like a level or two below the Caster, making them somewhat weak, but their danger is how many the Necromancer can bring on the board.
I would then add a Healing spec, because we’ve had two hero tanking classes, and no healing ones (Monks are not a hero class, fun as they are) which would focus on ablating damage, guardian pets that intercept and block for the target and go with HoTs for the remainder of the healing arts.
They can even be held down to two specs like the Demon Hunter was for simplicity’s sake.
Death Knights are as much Necromancers as Paladins are Priests.

Paladins are priests, insofar as the lore is concerned.

doubth ppl want a lag-o-mancer around XD(Diablo 2 old days for those that played it)…40 minions running around by at least 3 necro would crash the game hard :S
Haha dont need to have 40 minions but at least undead minion not Demons
Not quite true. They were knights given the power to bless and heal, according to the lore. This was due to the loss of priests in the first war where the fragility of the priest was rather pronounced.
This decision was made in the intervening time between the fall of Stormwind and the Horde attacking the Alliance.
Theurgists couldn’t get 40 minions running around, though several of them could. Initially, the pets would last no longer than 20-30 seconds, but one was upgraded to 60 seconds at another point. Average cast time was about 2-2.5 seconds, so a solo Theurgist couldn’t really do much. 25 Theurgists would probably chug the server, though, I will admit.
No thank you. Warlocks are already on life support thanks to Death Knights and Demon Hunters encroaching on them. Necros will be a a nail in the coffin. They are the last class Blizzard should think about implementing.
No more edgy boi classes for the love of pete.

We got too many dang classes right now. I don’t understand why people keep asking for more races/classes when Blizzard isn’t doing a good job with what they have already created.
The Shadowlands changes for classes is Blizzard recognizing that they have totally botched classes.

Hopefully never. Unholy DK covers the undead pet class identity, and Warlocks cover everything else a Necromancer would do … infact if they gave Warlocks some glyphs to change their demons into undead you would be able to roleplay them as Necromancers without any problems.
People need to let this go, at this point it’s simply not possible to create a fully fleshed out Necromancer class without stepping heavily on the toes of two existing classes, one of which already had it’s identity modified once so that Demon Hunters could be introduced.

Honestly, I seen Mages and Hunters doing that, personally, with Shadow Priests as an aside, but that’s just the gameplay aspects, I suppose.
Because the current classes don’t have all the aspects of gameplay one could want. Heck, I’ve still never played another MMORPG that could spam pets like DAoC’s Theurgist, and I loved that class.
No, they’re not. Priests work the light, Paladins bathe in it. This is why we can have forsaken priests but not paladins.

Okay. So the current classes aren’t what you want but, the fact is they are doing a terrible job on classes already. Why would you want a trash version of whatever class it is that you want?
Until Blizzard proves that they can fix what they got now, adding on more isn’t a good move for Blizzard or the players.
Necromancy is a big part of WoW lore since beggining and u telling that only a DK that partly use Frost or Blood can interact with Death. It doesnt make any sense. As of Glyph for Warlock it would be cool but yet they interact with demon. They talked about Male/Female version of demon pet as glyph once still never happened so i wouldnt count on it
<------------ Already here and we’re getting abilities unpruned for all 3 specs in SL.
Death knight doesn’t count as necromancer since they’re a melee class not a caster class.

Its the Patrick Wallet argument again!
Necromancers Summon undead? “Yup”
Necromancers spread diseases? “Yup.”
Necromancers use dark death magicy stuff? “Yup.”
So if it summons undead, spreads diseases, and uses dark death magicy stuff it must be a necromancer? “Makes sense to me!”
Then Unholy is a Necromancer!
“Nope. Unholy isn’t a Necromancer.”

Lore wise there’s nothing wrong with Necromancers, they’ve existed since the beginning as you said. The issue is purely from a gameplay perspective, because everything a WarCraft Necromancer does is already covered either by DKs or Warlocks. At most it could only ever fit as a fourth spec for one of those two classes (Warlocks would work best due to already being a caster), but the easiest solution to implement would be the Warlock glyph suggestion I made. And I wasn’t trying to say that those glyphs were likely to happen, only that it would be an easy way for Blizz to appeal to those who want to play a Necromancer.

They have necromantic powers, but they are not necromancers, they are something else with more abilities: Death Knights.
Unholy spec it’s only a mechanic game thing, in lore a Death Knight could use the powers from the 3 specs, and also fight with weapons and plate armor.
But a necromancer only use necromancer spells, and because of that probably he will have a bigger battery of spells into that kind of magic. And also he is really bad in melee combat.
So i did some research in Google:
-
Necromancer: a person who practices necromancy; a wizard or magician.
-
Necromancy: the supposed practice of communicating with the dead, especially in order to predict the future.
So, basically you want to be a sorcerer with a wand wearing a sexy dress while talking to the dead and calling stuff that will happen in a few seconds.
And you still ask why Blizzard don’t want that in their game?
