I’ve yet to see someone give me a set if spells and playstyle that already isn’t in game and will gut other classes to play a subpar version of said gutted classes. Tinkerer on the other hand, gives us a tank and healing spec that will totally work.
Its not nice to talk about dks that way
Necromancy isn’t a bad idea, it could be a ranged dps spec for deathknights. I would rather have an extra spec for each class than an entire new class. But either is fine with me.

BAM you are a necromancer!
I’d rather them rework one of the specs of DK to be a caster versus making a new class that’s going to gut another class.
They could easily just change unholy DK into a full on summoner plate caster that summons and controls all sorts of undead.
Most dk abilities are ranged lol what more could he needed. The filler spells would he shadowbolt or eldrich blast that does the same thing as shadow bolt
I’m expecting Tinkerer/Artificer in 10.0
Especially if we are going to go more cosmic leaving Azeroth to engage in the light vs void war.
And I say Artificer because I think it will be a blending of magic and tech. Which most of the races have in their societies already.
Exactly! They have an entire race that has been with us since the beginning of shadowlands. They are dps but I can see them be supports as well. They have all the moves like playable characters too
I hope they get the option to use ranged weapons as well. Finally have another class that can roll against hunters for weapons.
Now this is just my opinion here, but I don’t think Blizzard needs to add any new classes until they can fix the classes and their issues that currently exist.
What class issues are you currently facing?
Fixed it for you.
I’m not really a fan of tinker personally, but if so - I’d understand tank / dps - but healing with tech via Tinker as a class just ruins the fantasy genre that WoW has, even further for me.
That I am personally facing? None, but that isn’t saying much as I generally play what’s fun and can hold its own in anything outside of Mythic level content. Based on what I’ve read here and from other sources on the classes I play (Warlock/Mage) as well as other classes I have an interest in there seem to be many problems. Collectively that is.
I know right, instead tinkerer will gut an entire profession and a lot of hunter.
Dear god just admit you prefer tinkerer over another fantasy over this dishonesty.
I mean I can see there are issues in the 1% area with MDI and RWF for certain classes. But as a whole I see a lot of the classes doing rather well. It seems they all can do 20 keys, they can all do heroic and mythic raid. There’s always going to be a bottom of the dps parses, just how things are when it comes to rankings. But things are going to get shaken up next week with double leggos and when people get 4 piece. I think there are design flaws in a lot of the classes but that would take a change of perspective of the devs versus just tweaking damage/healing numbers. Adding a new class to me doesn’t seem out of question when we have archetypes that don’t exist in the game.
By that logic they shouldn’t add anything ever because it will never be balanced?
It won’t gut a profession if they are tech & magic. Artificer, think Millificent and Milhouse.
ah, so they’ll gut hunter and mage?
even better! genius!
I don’t see how it guts hunter? And mages don’t have a monopoly on magic. We have paladins, warlocks, priests, death knights, druids… pretty much every class except rogue and warrior use magic.
I vote Necromancer between the two but you’re right it’s disingenuous to act like only one but not the other might have a clash with pre existing stuff in WoW
