NE spirits from the Burning of Teldrassil foreshadowed to serve a purpose later on

The war exacted a terrible toll on our people. More so than anyone else. It cannot go unanswered. I hope that you will stand with us when we finally have our vengeance.

Elune has not forgotten us. You, saving us, is proof of that. I wonder if there is still a part for us to play, a duty to fulfill. We must be patient.

I’m wondering if they’re going to be sent to blow up Sylvanas, Archimonde style.

Edit: Also…man, this is depressing. One of the spirits is the first NE you meet making a new character in Teldrassil. That was the first NPC I met in WoW back in open beta. As a Horde player, it’s balls to be constantly reminded of that horror and be tangentially blamed even though I had no agency as a player to avoid it, change sides or help. :frowning:

Elune let you go there in the first place. I always hated that “mysterious ways” rationalization of anything good that happened.

Careful, that’s spooky dark warden thinking.

That’s what baffles me the most about the dark wardens, that I completely agree with them. It makes no sense that you would start murdering your people when your Goddess is the one who failed you.

Well, I’m actually happy about knowing Kaldorei spirits are still willing to fight against Sylvanas.
Also nice to see Anaris get a chance to one last strike against her murderers.

Calling it now, if there’s an Ardenwald Raid.

Sylvanas will be majorly defeated in a raid where the forces of the Maw launch a massive offensive into Ardenwald, which was only made possible by the Drust weakening the forest by taking out the big trees during the initial zone questing, which act as a natural buffer against invasion. (something that’s mentioned during one of the quests)

It’ll probably feature something like Mueh’zala Boss Fight 2: Electric Boogaloo, Nathanos Blightcaller: Revengeance, and perhaps some sort of fight that involves Sylvanas loosely so that Blizzard doesn’t fully go back on their promise that ‘sylvanas won’t go the way of garrosh! she won’t be a raid boss!’. While in the midst of a whole bunch of rule of cool moments that Blizzard is banking on the players loving but’ll more than likely fall short as weird mix of NE, Troll, and Ardenwald themes come together to form a patchwork finale.

Final cinematic will be a parallel of the end of WC3. Some big Maw monster is about to reach the Heart of the Forest and all hope seems lost… Tyrande, or someone, will have a big ‘blow the horn’ moment where the Night Elf souls that were lost with Teldrassil come together to just blow up like they did with Archimonde, destroying whatever threat it is.

Genuinely foiled to the point that she can’t just smirk it off and weakened from whatever boss fight she was involved in, Sylvanas will face off against Tyrande and promptly lose in a frustratingly short CGI fight. But right before she dies, the Jailer will deus ex machina her away, to turn the tables on their alliance for failing him.

Tyrande will then be de-clawed, and Blizzard will tote said raid as being ‘fulfilled vengeance for Teldrassil’, while these forums will burn with the bitterness of the twenty whole NE fans left by that point.

I think you’re onto something. Sylvanas’ only possible endings at this point are “blown up by wisps,” “murdered by Tyrande” or “forced to become the new Jailer of the Maw because irony.”

I’d say murdered by Tyrande is unlikely by this point, just because I do not think Blizzard possesses the stones to do it.

But it went over so well with the story nerd community when Thrall killed Garrosh

Astarii Starseeker:

When I closed my eyes, I thought the next face I would see was Elune’s.

Thank you for not giving up on us.

What do you say to that?

I feel confident declaring that Delaryn and the other undead night elves will have a part to play in the Night Fae covenant and I’m very curious to see how a reunion with these two would go down.

I’d like to see something that doesn’t involve them blowing themselves up. Like they all band together to channel Elune’s wrath into a zone wide moonfire that burns all of the Maw forces to ashes.

I’ll keep an eye out for Delaryn. Especially when I sever her traitor head from her shoulders.

Believe me, I’d rather see that too. But I wouldn’t put it past Blizzard to have the NE souls we specifically rescued blow themselves up, not in the name of vengeance, but in protecting the “natural cycle”, only to have the Winter Queen or someone explain at the very tail-end that they’ll be reborn.

Every time. Lmao.

Nathanos’ fight will totally be like playing against Smithers in the Simpsons wrestling game, where Mr. Burns is hurling stuff from the sidelines.

Why must you remind me of that hell? Cheating bastard.

I tongue-in-cheek suggested it ages ago. The reply I remember most was that, as Sylvanas is so much smaller than Archimonde, it would lack the drama and spectacle of the WCIII ending.

I’m glad she’s back, and hope she does more. She didn’t do much before, but I liked her. A nice break from the hippy-style Night Elves, or the overly-eloquent ones.

Makes sense. Shadowglen is way on the other side of Teldrassil from Darnassus, so he likely didn’t make it in time. Same for Denalan. His hovel is way out in an outlying area.

I don’t think that will stop them. The current creative team relies a bit too heavily on mirrored callbacks. Like Anduin entering the Lordaeron throne room being framed exactly like Arthas’ arrival even though there were no thematic reasons to do that. And in the SL cinematic, Sylvanas’ a little too on-the-nose “no king rules forever.”

You forgot “killed by a group of 15 or so elite players.”

I don’t think it’s likely either, but for a different reason. I don’t think they’d have Tyrande kill both Nathanos and Sylvanas, and we know that she kills Nathanos.

Luke Shadewalker: Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.

The rumor I’m hearing most frequently is that Sylvanas is going to become the new Queen of the Alliance, marrying Anduin and Taelia. This pisses off Jaina who uses magic to kill herself into Calia’s new Forsaken wife and they pick up Sylvanas’ old goal of laying waste to Stormwind and its citizens.

This kicks off the next faction conflict expansion and causes the Draenei and Night Elves to wall off northern Kalimdor with druidism and crystals.

Everything else sounds kind of out there so I won’t mention it here.

lol 100% they’re either being mass rez’d or sacrificing themselves to save Ardenweald or both
