So I just found what is most assuredly a bot farm in Nazmir so I decided to look it up and see whats up. It looks like this has been going on at least since last November so whats up, why hasnt anything been done about it?

Cloth farm bots. Fast respawning area, lots of gold/cloth.
1 healer, lots of boomies usually.

There were 2 groups doing it too. All of the boomies had almost the same name lol. Each group had 4-5 boomies, 2 monks (one healer and one tank) and a fire mage
I’m sure they’ve banned waves of them already. That’s the problem with bots, there’s always more of them.

It’s at the heart of darkness. And the farm in drustvar. The mobs spawn fast so they are hoping on good drops.
Could you provide coordinates, please? I’d like to see for myself and to possibly kill these bots. I think I know where the farm is in Drustvar, but Nazmir is news to me.
This has been going for ages. Legion (and I assume WoD) it was the monks pulling in the clefthooves in Nagrand. Now it’s monks and boomkin in Nazmir.

The fact that they had similar names is hardly evidence that they are bots. Report them if you have reason to believe they are bots. A GM can check their account activity to see if that’s the case.

Go look in LFG …see those people posting for 2x4 group? That is what they are doing. If you saw a bunch with the same name then it’s a multi boxer. It’s not bots. Nor is it illegal. The faster you kill the mobs the faster they spawn.

No, they arent in warmode. Are you guys really trying to say that a group of 10-12 accounts doing the same thing for an extended period of time without moving or deviating from a kill a few mobs and loot pattern isnt a sign of botting?
The only reason I brought up the name similarities is that it makes it fairly obvious that its just one person.
Some are. I attacked a group, they didn’t hit me once, just kept pulling mobs.
Killed all but one, it kept shooting and pulling till it died.

A multiboxer can either be controlled by a human using key replicating software or a bot program. There are still instances where it is the latter, which is against ToS. Its easy enough to tell which is which if its in war mode. Else you try whispering it and judge based on the responses (if any). Your best bet is to always report them as the GM’s have more ways to figure that out than players.

They don’t want to tip their hand, when they find out what “seed” whatever the bot program is taking advantage of (or however the heck that works) until they can plug it, by banning them all. So they do it later, in a ban wave, then the makers of the bot program find a new way for it to work (then the cycle continues!)
Also they, unlike you, can tell the difference between actual “botting” and someone just quietly multiboxing/farming/whatever.

Recently saw 20 or so hunters out on Netherwing Ledge doing the same thing. All of them using Barrage at the same time was amusing.
You haven’t seen a bot problem until you come to Ilidan server…
