Unless you compete for world firsts, the buffs are not necessary.
We did the content in original Vanilla mostly without them, just Hakkar buffs at times. Ofc. we took our time and were later caught by TBC release when we were at Naxx.
I suspect similar to happen with seasons, the few nerd guilds will clear every raid on release day, while the casuals will realize at one point, that content comes too fast for them.
After 1 year when the realm resets, most people will be half way through the game, but I guess this is what Blizzard wants seasons to look like. We need to accept and understand that the seasonal realms are for nerds and min / maxers, not for casuals.
Our realms are the era realms, no resets will happen there, this is our playground and I find that ok. Once Blizzard realizes that seasons are only played by a few hundred people, they might rethink their idea about those realms and hopefully release brand new era realms for Vanilla and TBC, without xrealm, bots and XP boosting.
Just sit tight for some more.
