would be nice if you could nerf the gold costs of farming original Naxx gear and make it so it doesn’t require an OG crafter to make. These kind of defeat the purpose, at this point it’s easier to just get the set from BMAH. That was literally the point, to offer casuals a better way to get that set aside from BMAH and yet you made it just as sweaty, cmon.

It’s not that simple though because the vendor item costs are huge. Which is what OP is likely referring to.

If you want to take the shortcut method and use gold, sure. Otherwise, you can get phylacterweave and your targeted slot item entirely free of charge by running the raid. Will you have to do it numerous times? Sure. Does it cost gold though? Nope.
Oh and you also have a third option! It’s called the BMAH.
So you have two options that cost gold, with one of those options being quicker than the others, and you have a third option that, albeit is slower, doesn’t cost gold.
Phylacterweave does not drop in the raid, it’s a vendor inside Naxx that sells it for 2k a pop. So yes it’s 2.8m gold plus finding someone to craft it, plus tipping. Call it 3m. FOR ONE SET.

Run the raid. Get your tokens. Spend tokens at vendor on armor tokens. Get phylacterweave from said armor tokens. Not a 100% drop from the tokens but they drop.
Yea, I’m looking at wowhead and I’m seeing that you MIGHT be able to get one inside of a tier piece. You need 1400 of them.
You’re basically saying that if I pick up pennies on the street every day that one day in year 2147 I would be rich. It’s basically not a thing.
Or that I am possible at risk of a plane falling on my house if I live near an airport.

Yes, you can. I have done so. Run alts. Get armor tokens. Use armor tokens. Get phylacterweave. Do it again and until you get the amount you need and the armor piece. Move on to the next. You’re also bound to get lamented pieces this way, and you can sell extras on the AH for gold if you want to speed it up. But this is a non-issue.

You can’t. There’s old cosmetics that you can unlock in wotlk naxx now though. But OG Naxx is long gone.

the whole point of them adding this went out the window when they slapped it on a vendor with a huge gold cost. It’s clearly just another token cash grab for nostalgia fans yet again. That’s what the problem is.
I’d be all for it then if they removed phylacterweave from the vendor and just upped the drop rates from running the content. Based on your answers, you should be pro this decision too, right?
Because that’s what I’m asking for. I’m asking for a way to actually feasibly get these sets without pulling out my wallet and buying 20 tokens and then hoping I can find a non-grubby crafter on top of it. If I have to pull out my wallet then BMAH is just better and cheaper anyway at this point. Not to mention not class locked (aka BMAH lets you use dreadnaught on a ret for example, this way they added doesn’t)
Hence, my post, it defeats the purpose.
