Saw the datamined set bonuses for the Ret paladin Naxx tier set.
(2) Set : [Increases the damage done by your Divine Storm ability by 20%.]
(4) Set : [Reduces the cast time of your Holy Wrath ability by 100% and reduces the cooldown of your Holy Wrath ability by 60%.]
(6) Set : [Your Exorcism and Holy Wrath abilities deal increased damage to Undead equal to their critical strike chance.]
The 2-set bonus is nice but doesn’t really address the one request we’ve been asking for which is to turn Divine Storm’s damage into holy damage which scales with our holy spellpower.
The 4-set bonus just doesn’t make sense, not only in the fact that i’d have to give up a much BETTER set bonus from last two-phases. In either having reduced judgement CDs or the AQ set bonus which outright increases Exorcism damage on ANY target. Secondly, Holy Wrath uses up SO much mana without also reducing the mana cost by like 80% it wouldn’t make sense to use this set bonus.
The 6-set here gives us some of that exorcism damage back and gives us more damage with holy wrath (the ability that costs half our mana bar to cast) but at best with BiS gear and world buffs you have about 40% increased damage from the set-bonus… which is less than the stacking 4-set bonus effect which goes up to 120% damage…
Here are my suggestions for what the set bonuses SHOULD resemble. I’m not a game-dev so don’t judge me too harshly.
2-set: Divine Storm now does holy damage and scales with holy spellpower. Divine storm’s healing increased by 50%
4-set: Melee hits apply a stacking buff that increases Crusader Strike damage by 10% (Stacks up to 5 times) (Buff is not consumed upon casting Crusader Strike)
6-set: Holy Wrath is now Instant cast and has it’s mana cost reduced by 80% and it’s cooldown reduced by 50%, but it’s damage is also reduced by 20%.
