Naxx Gear and Burst DPS

(x) Doubt.

After the ~bwl tier, the lock won’t need nightfall… or even soul fire to global you… A single shadowbolt will suffice.

I used to tank 5 mans for people on my warlock with AQ gear. At first they were suspicious but then word got around how it was doable.

I remember being in full T2 and not being able to kill this T3 paladin. 3 of us couldn’t put a dent into that dude.

from private server experience, casters start to spike really hard with some of the awesome stuff from AQ40 (visc blade, cthun ring and gloves)…if you’re in a guild farming naxx for a couple months you’ll likely have more items with crit than without crit as a caster. AFAIK the mage t3 is nothing special, warlock t3 is good simply because of the higher base stats.

rogue t3 set is great, once they get a death sting and that dagger from Naxx trash mobs they do stupid damage

ret gets their best gear set from AQ40

I would say you start to notice the powerspike in all these classes before Naxx comes out.

You’ll see most ppl doing 600-1500 DPS in naxx, no where near 3000 DPS sorry. No fight in naxx lasts 30 secs or less

Mages already are farming trash in many high’ish dungeons. Prot pallies and hunters may also do pretty well. Most classes don’t have the armor, AoE and/or CC to do it efficiently. I think soloing 5 man content became more popular during TBC and beyond.

Yeah that’s why tanks were still using Thunderfury in black temple.

Funny you say that, if 30 people average ~1,200 DPS on Noth, he’s nearing execute phase in 30 seconds. Fights will be done between 75-120 seconds most likely, unless we get stealth buffs across the board to make Naxx more difficult.

Naxx gear also has a lot more stamina so an equally geared person will still have a chance of surviving a burst, with healing. A Naxx geared player vs an undergeared player will be a blowout for sure.

Then please tell me why this warrior is already getting 2,000+ dps in every MC boss fight? Including one parse of nearly 2,700?

People absolutely were having dps that high when wearing full AQ, and Naxx gear. But go ahead by all means, and let me know i’m wrong again.

It was never intended for classes to output that much DPS in the first raid of the game. Its clear to me that this is not skill. The game is broken and will become much more apparent in later phases.

Even if we hard capped player raid size to 20 it wouldn’t be enough.

Because you don’t understand how parsing, cooldowns and add interactions work.He has 1 fight, a fight with adds, that lasts the entire duration of his DPS CD’s on. Notice NONE of his other parses break 2k? and how only one of his ST fights breaks 1500?EDIT:also note the extreme RNG on his crit rate for that fight, even with raid buffs 90% crit cleave, 71% WW crit, 100% on BT,execute and hamstring.

AT the time they weren’t. Most people would have been sitting on 5-600 with a few outliers at 800+. There is no way a tank of any spec could have sustained 2.7k TPS even in naxxramas.

You’re remembering wrong. As 3k dps was Sunwell geared dual glaive fury or rogue dps with chain drums and heroism.

If mages/lock/priests larger health pools, there is literally no point in playing anything other than a mage/lock/priest.

Quite frankly, these classes should be 1-2shottable.

Risk vs Reward should play a major role in how easy it is to survive. If you have the ability to stand in the middle of your team and deal insane damage and CC people or heal people, you should absolutely be able to be one-shot.

Rogues/Warriors/Shaman have to basically sacrifice themselves to get in melee range to deal damage, and they should be rewarded for it, by being able to take out priority targets.

Ranged classes have the advantage because of range.

The list of abilities to close the gap are quite short. Rogues have stealth but, after you’re out of stealth you’re a free lunch.

Warlocks will obliterate entire groups of players in Tier 3 gear. I think Shadow Priests can be even more deadly. That 24 second Shadow Word: Pain will be quite nasty. Make sure you guys have plenty of shadow resistance.

If you give a warrior a might of menithil…

You won’t survive the intercept stun.

I’m sure that in 2019 we will see some crazy numbers, but don’t confuse that with sustainable ST damage on a progression based fight because players just aren’t going to pull 3K sustained ST damage on boss fights that last 2-3 minutes or longer. But if it’s an AoE fight like Garr and they’re messing around cause LOLMC? Yeah I could see it if they end up melting the adds in under 30 seconds.

And maybe a raid in full naxx gear could get the meters to reflect that on patchwerk if with all CDs up. Even if you humor the idea that 3k DPS is absolutely sustainable that’s effectively burst for PvP anyways. 2k DPS means any non tank geared/specced player is dead in 3 seconds tops.

my exp on playing on some pvt servers mages and locks with t3 level of gear can 1 hit people with pyro and soulfire so yah its gunna be kinda goofy

People will have an easier time with Naxx than AQ40. The mechanics weren’t tweaked so much in Wrath aside from the number of tanks needed for 4h and a few others. It will be puggable by 3 months after it’s release.

a ROGUE talking about risk VS reward when he can kill someone faster than a mage can cast a single frostbolt…

the irony is strong here.
