I know this is a long way off until phase 6 and Naxx being farmed but, does anyone remember what kind of burst DPS Naxx geared players had in the day? I remember BC inflating health pools substantially.
I was wondering, will Naxx geared players make healers obsolete if players are running around effortlessly breaking the game with unbalanced items?

Don’t worry. Most people who can clear Naxx will quit when they’re done with it a couple times and wait for TBC.

Naxx geared dps warriors, rogues and mages will kill you before you get a 2.5 sec cast off if you don’t have immunity. Damage increases substantially but the health pools stay quite low. This is solely the reason why I don’t see classic+ as a good option going forward.

Most people will never see Naxx, let alone kill 1st boss

They don’t need 8/9 to be scary. You can get some really good stuff just by farming trash mobs by kiting with 2 hunters.
I’m amazed at how bad Blizzard is balancing the itemization in the game.
In retail, pvp, world quests, and mythic dungeons scaled the gear as the raid gear scaled. Blizzard has understood the problem of stat inflation over time.
I think WoW classic will break once phase 5 and 6 items start flowing in.
remember classic wow you progress through each raid and you need the gear from each raid.
sure people will do bwlzg,aq20/40 but thats where most people will stop nax is the last raid and if you dont progress in the others you wont do nax.

I remember a fire mage friend of mine that was a Naxx raider, he could sustain close to 3,000dps. Burst? I couldn’t even begin to wonder. I do know there’s a video on YouTube right now if MC geared classic players speed clearing Mc, and on some fights their fury warriors are pushing 2k dps. So I’d imagine in Naxx gear we’ll see some crazy TBC-esque numbers.
blizzard man bad cant do nothing right to please a whiny player base.

If what you say is true then I suspect some players being able to solo farm 5 player dunegons. Gold inflation will get out of control.
Eh largely wrong to be completely honest. Naxx in Classic is going to be a cakewalk until the 4H, Sapphiron, and KT fights. Most guilds that aren’t utterly hopeless are going to have at least two wings down. Anub’rekhan won’t last long enough to do his locust swarm, Faerlina will be simple, and Maexxna is a complete joke.
Patchwerk until people figure out his threat, Grobbulus was just easy anyway, Gluth if you have competent kiters, Thaddius will confuse people until they figure out + and - mechanic but none of the construct wing/abomination wing is particularly hard.
Noth is a joke. Heigan is a joke and everyone should be fundamentally aware of his dance mechanic going into the fight presuming he lasts long enough to even get it off. Even if 20 people know the dance and live he will likely die. Loatheb was always easy to begin with, people managed to 5 man him in Vanilla, I think it was Death and Taxes.
Razuvious is easy. Gothik is easy just long AF.
4H, Sapphiron, and KT are the only hard fights in there and come down to precise execution (4H and KT to an extent) and numbers that are going to be hard to keep up with for average players. In AQ40 the only fights any competent guild will struggle with are Skeram and C’thun and C’thun is more of a positioning check with the bulk of wiping happening in the first 30 seconds while people figure out how to get into his room.
Say what you want about private servers but this was how it shaped up on them and Classic from what we have seen is far easier than any private server ever was.

You see it as a whine but, some people are intelligent enough to connect the dots and predict future outcomes in an effort to keep the game balanced and enjoyable for all participants.
The idea of progression was to feel as if your character gained in power. If everything scaled with your character, then why even do the content at all? For gear that just looks better? If the fresh level 60 is doing just as much as a character decked out in epics and legendaries (due to scaling of gear from lower level content), would that decked out character feel as if the time and effort put into the game was actually worth it?
Vanilla wow had a mechanic for catching up; this was the introductory of 20 man raids upon release of new content. That was where new 60s went to get gear that was proportionate to the difficulty of new content.

i just remember anecdotal accounts of people in full tier 3 literally 1-shotting eachother in pvp.
me and a friend have 2-manned brd in MC gear.
4H is going to be a circle zerg unless the Shield Wall is significantly huge. Thane is the beefiest at 590k and also the one who drops Meteor, but you also have extra time at the beginning for the first mark to apply compared to subsequent marks. Pretty sure with a raid of Fire Mages and everyone else rocking BWL+ level weapons and stats, dropping him first before needing to swap won’t actually be beyond the pale.
KT will also be dumbed down thanks to the DPS we have now too. Phase 1 will be Gothik levels of boring and the fight itself is a positioning/spread thing. Kicks will be probably the hardest thing to coordinate because people are insistent on obliterating his health, if we’re being honest.

To give you a good idea of how good Naxx gear was, just know that in TBC my guild still cleared Naxx every week because the gear was on par or better than what dropped in Karazhan at the time.
