I defeated Nathanos Blightcaller in the Eastern Plaguelands event but received no weapon as a reward.
Is it some bug or is it intentional?
In any case, I have no weapon and I no longer have the possibility to repeat the world quest. What sould I do?

Same happened to me i died before he died. Got turn in and it gave me nothing for turning in the quest. And no drop from him.

I’m still stuck on the part where their announcement said he drops appearances unique to the pre-patch, when all that drops are warfront weapons.
But I’m not surprised Blizzard can’t even make the gear drop properly.

Yup, my alt died, on the run back to her body the Boss died before she could rez and got nothing!

Yeah I was running back when he died. I didn’t get the WQ reward but now the WQ is also gone so I can’t repeat… this is lame

The reward pops in your bag. It’s not at the turn in.

If this is what happened, that is how it works.
You have to be near the boss when it dies to receive credit.
If you were alive for the full fight and still didn’t receive credit for the worldquest, that is a bug.
I think you cant release… 1 toon i released, and on run back he died =no cut scene no weapon. 2nd toon stayed alive = cutscene and weapon. 3rd toon died, did not release = cutscene and weapon.

We had it explained to us during Legion that it was intentional that people would get no reward if they died and attempted to run back to help with the kill. You’re supposed to go immediately afk if you die. Heck, why not go afk first to guarantee you get the loot, right?

well I fought the Boss a 2nd time and I didn’t die and still got nothing
So what you’re saying is, if you died you are SOL? that’s pretty bad on Blizzards part if this is true!
The world quest should not complete if you are dead!

The problem is the world quest is gone if you were running back and didnt receive credit

Yep. If you die and are out of range, the quest will complete and you get nothing and no chance to redo.

haha… grand scheme not a big deal. But i bet everyone that this happens to is on there first toon, which is probably the one they are planning on playing in shadowlands and thus the worst one to not get it
I got the cutscene and got the stormwind quest cheched as done. But no weapon. Do I have to wait to next week then?

You mean for people to unsub because there are so many people there you mostly will die and get nothing!
Yeah lol I did it first on my SL character and it’s a fresh 50 so I can actually use some gear.
Kinda ruined my whole excitement for the event…

Died. Got the cut scene and quest complete. No loot on my rogue.
My suggestion would be blizz get the postmaster to make good on a weapon.
