Prediction: Tyrande or Genn will appear out of nowhere, come up behind Nathanos, and end him.
If Genn, the scene will look like this:

Nothing in the dialogue indicates we kill him in the pre-patch, just fight him.

Your responses are one of the many reasons why people hate Mechagnome.
There’s nothing to indicate that. Nathanos does not struggle during the encounter. He’s likely just hostile to us. For now.
We won’t be the one to kill him. If anything, it will be by Sylvanas’s own hand.
Nathanos is in on this plan as well. My guess is they need him to do something in the maw.
