Naming your dragon

Im pretty excited for dragonriding, any new world content is a good thing for this game. But Id really like to see the dragons become their own thing and personable. I wanna name mine, pat it, feed it, earn and find new unlockables. I think that would be very fun.

Imagine patting your dragon.

It would be fun to have a Order of the Cloud Serpent scenario where we raise one :eyes:

They should give dragon whelps the cat on lap animation as well. Let the little guys rest on your lap if you do /sit.

I was hoping the stables in WoD would be this. The barebones cloud serpent quest line in MoP was one of my favorite things and I wanted a deeper version of it. Petting, feeding, naming, and otherwise just having this creature makes it feel a lot more real.

Edit:

Or perch on the shoulder! I love the few FF14 pets that will perch on your shoulder every so often, it’s such a good look.

I wonder how our dragons will feel about us being able to ALTER THEIR FLESH on a whim.

Either way I’mma name mine Beans.

I absolutely adore that little guy! So cute and wholesome.

This would be a great reuse of the Stables!

They know its in their best interest to look really cool.

Blizz would probably make it like warlock minion names: a fixed, game-generated name that can only be changed to something else random via a convoluted process involving gold.

Actually there was an interview with Morgan Day, I believe it was, where they said if people showed interest in naming their dragons, they may consider it.

Edit: Misspelled his name, oops sorry!

I have shown interest.

Would your dragon mount exist outside of being mounted?
can it be something targetable?

I really wish the animation to summon the dragon was like other mmos where the mount actually appears and runs over to you. Thatd be really nice.

But yeah I imagined a stable type area.

I did notice new stables near the cooking trainer in Stormwind.
While I haven’t noticed similar stables in Horde cities, truthfully I never really looked for them.

There’s one in Org on the left side of Grommash hold. I suspect they’re going to be the station/interface for customization.

It’s little things that go a long way. The camp in Pokémon, as an example, isn’t super in depth. But it’s just fun playing fetch and cooking curry with them.

Something like this in WoW would just be nice flavor for the system.

I want to cook curry with my dragon as a dragon person.

Make it happen, Blizz.

I found the interview. Hoping more people show interest.

I’m still interested in naming my dragons! I also really hope that we get to keep them in some form after DF is over.

My Highland drake already has a name picked out, Chauncey. As for the others, I’m still thinking.

Better yet imagine taking the ugly thing to some cliff and putting an arrow or bullet in its head watching and laughing as it falls dead to the ground below. :smiling_imp:

Or patting your female dragon’s visage in an adult manner. Consensually of course.

You may consent, your dragon may consent, but are you forgetting someone?

Morgan Day does NOT consent!

…Please let us name our Dragonriding mounts, though. Maybe even just all mounts in general.
